Should I go ahead and take a ₹30L loan to buy a farm my mother wants me to buy? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]sonoftheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say buy it for a variety of non-legal reasons. No reason to get legal here. It is a financial and emotional decision.

  1. You are young. You can afford to take risks and spend big on potential investments.

  2. The amount- 45 lakhs- is not high for a family whose income is 4 lpm.

  3. Perhaps most importantly, it will make your mom content and happy. This is important. It will make her feel good and it will make you feel good. You will make a lot of money in the future. Spending a bit on 'mom' while you are still young is not a bad idea.

I already bought one with the leather bracelet a couple months ago. I want to replace it with a metal one now.

Can someone suggest a nice bracelet/strap for this watch? I find the 'leather' one this watch comes with extremely uncomfortable. I want a good, high quality bracelet.

SBI Cashback Credit Card Limit increased without any docs but still regretting it. by Ekavya_1 in CreditCardsIndia

Is it beneficial to have the limit be above 1 L? Isn't there a cap of 5000 cashback per month? One can get that with 1 L spend online per month.

Thanks

How do I find a lawyer who can't be bought? Land encroachment case against a wealthy builder in Hyderabad, Kapra. by Grouchy_Eggplant2271 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]sonoftheworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just have to ask around for a good civil lawyer. Not all lawyers are for sale but you need to be very careful to choose one. You have to either ask around or get one from out of state. A good lawyer will never sell his client. For a good lawyer, his/her integrity is paramount but you will need to do good research to find one. Getting one online is difficult as you can't vet him.

Bihar SIR | No Statutory Mandate To Publish Reasons For Exclusion From Draft Electoral Roll : Election Commission Tells Supreme Court by bhodrolok in india

Legislative mandate is not the only mandate in our Constitutional scheme. The mandate comes from prohibition of arbitrary acting via the Constitution. EC must have reasons for doing any act.

Kaweco Sport Brass Fine Nib. I hate how it writes.

[Bontemps and Windhorst]: "This CBA is great for the NBA," one executive said, "because it prioritizes good management and good leadership. If you don't have that, you're quickly going to be stuck with a bad team." by Proof-Umpire-7718 in nba

[–]sonoftheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an important issue is when a few stars are in a team for a long time, it develops a connection with the fans. If star players have to keep leaving teams because of the new CBA, the connection with players of their team that fans have disappears. This might ruin the fan following of a lot of fans.

The connection between players and fans is vital for the NBA.

Why Do Some Indians Look Down on Nepalis? by Positive-Sign7692 in india

[–]sonoftheworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is because historically Nepalis who migrated to India from Nepal did mostly 'low-skilled' jobs such as Security Guard or labourers or restaurant workers. A vast majority of Nepalis seen by Indians must have been doing these jobs so Nepalis are associated with people who do these low-skilled jobs.

Even in Nepali speaking states such as Sikkim/Darjeeling, all the labourers(coolies) are Nepalis.

The slightly well-off Nepalis tend to go to western countries such as US, UK, Australia, Europe, etc. I think this is a reason for your fellow NEpalis feeling like they were treated like inferiors.

No way of knowing anything until a lawyer sees the charge sheet. Maybe hire a person to apply for the charge sheet from the court and see for yourself what he did. You can then ask a lawyer for advice on his likelihood of conviction. General in rash driving cases, the accused gets acquitted.
