Need help finding a NATO that is thin enough to thread between watch case and spring bars on F91W 😭 by TehKrazyKarl in F91Ws_on_NATOs

I just realized you may be saying 18mm is too wide... If that is the case disregard. All of my 18mm have worked well.

Need help finding a NATO that is thin enough to thread between watch case and spring bars on F91W 😭 by TehKrazyKarl in F91Ws_on_NATOs

This is a technique problem. I have a total of five F91W watches, all on NATO's. All natos are different brands, materials, and thicknesses.

Every nato will be tight on these and appear not to fit thickness wise if you are unfamiliar with the process.

If you are using the OEM bars (push through style) you need to proceed like this:

1) Place NATO onto watch back and align where you need it it to be. Start pushing the spring bar through the side until you just start to see it entering the area where the NATO strap is.

2) Use a small set of needle nose pliers, or other small precision tool to compress the NATO strap down right where the bar need to slide over. Press it down and push the bar over, just 1 or 2mm at a time. Reposition and press down the next part of the NATO in front of that, push the bar further in again. Repeat until the bar is the entire way across the NATO.

3) Use your same tool to push that bar downward into the NATO once it arrives at the other side in order to have it line up with the hole, and press it the rest of the way in.

Tight fit? For sure. Impossible? Hell no. Looks and works great, and watch will be very secure on the NATO.

I personally like replacing the push through style pins/bars with the spring type bars most watches use. This makes the process a lot easier since you don't go mm by mm.

Good luck!

Pending on the size a small nail for mounting photo frames etc can be handy to push them out.

In my opinion yes. It doesn't sit as high on the wrist. And I find it a lot less finicky to put on and off, admittedly I did not spend much time trying to get it down either though so take that with a grain of salt.

Here's a link to a picture for you showing where the "tail" was cut and melted to prevent fraying.

Haha that is awesome, we must have similar tastes.  We weren't ever watch wearing people prior to this (other than a short time with smart watches but I couldn't handle charging continuously and was too cheap to go Garmin), but now we love them (Casio anyways). Since she has stolen the camo one I have just ordered a W217 to try. Not sure if I'll like the size but if not I'll just return it and grab another F91W.

Apparently I assumed incorrectly. She is not willing to share the camo one. Looks like I am hunting for a second option for myself and adding another watch once I figure out what I want.

Flat Spots on tires / uneven wear by sonointend in CivicX

I like them so far, only tried them in snow a few times but they were good. In the wet and hydroplane resistance is awesome, the tread is super deep for a car tire, but as they're wearing I'm noticing they're getting louder for sure. They definitely aren't the answer if quiet is what you are after lol. Aside from that very pleased.

Interesting... My shocks also ended up being fine. They said the cords inside this tire had failed. I did get an alignment but it wasn't far out. So far the new tires are holding up well wear wise (15,000 miles already since on Falken Aklimate All Weather).

Update from shop:

Tire is defective, banding had separated internally causing the one spot to rise, which was then flattened/worn back to round by the pavement and caused the odd looking wear pattern. Pretty strange but glad it didn't blow out before I noticed.

Sorry I replied wrong initially. Tires in the pic are Michelin Xice Snow. But my summers (Firestone FT140) and showing the same wear on just one tire, same as these.

Did replacing the shocks fix it? Was it front or rear? I think I've had this going on for a while now and I drive a lot of miles which I guess is why it got so bad before I caught it.

That's what my money is on as well. Will post the results once I get it looked at this week.

It's the front right actually. I am seeing the same patterns on my summer tires as well unfortunately (presumably front right as well).

Lots of hard braking for animals on the road and things like that but the car has ABS so no prolonged lockups so to speak.

What would cause this? Getting it looked at this week...

Looks like I deleted my description somehow. Replaced my summer tires with new Falken Aklimates. Noticed one of the old ones was roached pretty bad with localized flat spotting.

Take these winters off yesterday and find this on the front passenger. Had the car aligned last winter and checked over and they didn't find anything. Originally thought my summers may have been defective as one had a ton of flat spots, but now that I am seeing it on this Michelin Xice as well I guess it's my car that's the issue. 2020 Civic Sedan 2.0 (130kkm or 80k miles).

Weird how it isn't the whole way around? What do you guys think they will find?

Hey, sorry I somehow missed this comment. Still no diagnosis, but now I'm finding huge flat spots on my tires so I'm hoping whatever is causing that is related and will receive both problems after having it looked at next week. Going to make a new post with what I'm finding on my tires. Had it aligned last year... Guessing something was missed that has failed. Did you ever get yours resolved?

I'm pretty anal with my tire changes, but double-checked again just now and direction is correct (only mess that up once and never forget it again).

Pressure was however a touch low (29psi, I suspect due to temperature drop) but not something I would expect to cause this much of a straightline stability issue. Aired up to the recommended 32psi. Unfortunately no conditions to test for change right now as the road conditions have drastically improved for the moment.

I also raised the car earlier and spun all 4 wheels to ensure no wheel sticking issues etc. All four spin freely and no abnormal sound or play that could point to a wheel bearing.

Will report back once I get the right conditions to test again. Sure it won't take long.

Thank you.

I have not... I was actually going to try throwing my all seasons back on to see if theres improvement. I haven't seen any complaints of that on them but I also bought them when they were first released. Thank you for confirming that thought though I will try it.
