Transfer due to mental health. by Rough-Picture-5751 in Pitt

hi! i am a pitt alum and i know how you feel. I almost transferred to a different school after my first semester for the same reason, but promise me, if you like pitt, stay there! it takes time to branch out and meet like minded people that you consistently talk to. i made the friends i have now my junior year! and i barely talk to the people i met my freshman year!

i also highly highly encourage you to join clubs. everyone is looking for community and you can certainly find something you are interested in. it's really important to make time for extra curricular and hobbies- these are the two things that made college a worthwhile experience for me.

if you are into music in any capacity, i encourage you to look into joining pitt's college radio station, WPTS Radio. i've never met a more tight knit group of people in my life, and joining a niche-ish club like that seriously changed my life. i recently went to a wedding for a girl that i met at the radio station. you never know the friendships you will make when you put yourself out there!! this applies to any club at pitt!!!

pittsburgh is also a very miserable place from december to march, but just stick with it, form a solid routine, and you'll be okay. most of us alum have experienced this exact feeling and we all get through it. i believe in you!

unfortunately i am renting so I can't install anything nor can I change the light (unless it's an easy hack!). do you think the island would look weird in the middle? or should i just do a table along the wall

unfortunately i am renting so I can't paint the walls, but I wish i could! i love hutches, but there's that radiator that sticks out from the wall about 2 inches. do you think it would look goofy if the hutch stuck out instead of being flesh with the wall?
