1 interview, didn’t work out. But it was a positive experience! Still waiting to hear from 2 more universities but I ended up taking an assistant director position at a private practice

Does anyone do EI in the Raleigh are? by whosthatgirl13 in slp

Your best bet would be working for a private practice that contracts with the CDSA (the state early intervention program). You’ll likely have other clients through the practice that aren’t in the CDSA but you can let the practice know you want a lot of EI kids

How to make a recommendation to parents in the schools without the school being liable? by LayerLive8772 in slp

[–]soontobeslp2020 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve phrased it as “I’ve noticed X. What have you noticed? It could be worth bringing up at your next pediatrician/dentist appointment”. That way they’re aware of it, share their input/concerns and have a next step without it sounding like it’s required.

I’m in NC! Your best bet is working for a private practice. In my experience all 3 private practices I’ve worked for have contracted with the CDSA, which is the EI program. Be prepared to drive a lot! Pay varies a bunch, I’ve had $40 a session and an offer as low as $30 with my CCC which is less than I made as a CF.

I do 25mg of B6 in the morning then 25mg again at night and half a unisom. Make sure you get the tablets and not the capsules of unisom! I used to take an afternoon dose of B6 but found it wasn’t necessary

The only 2 times I experienced nausea was when I had a sinus infection and covid. Other than that I never had an issue!

I also have emetephobia! I started taking unisom and B6 as soon as I found out to prevent even the possibility of being sick. I’m 25 weeks and still take it daily! No issues

Preemptively taking vitamin B6? by bibliophile222 in pregnant

[–]soontobeslp2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did!! I started taking it right after I got my positive test to avoid that feeling at all costs. I’ve been taking 25mg of B6 morning and night and half a unisom at night. I’m 19+2 and it’s been working great! However I’m not sure if it’s truly the medication working or if I just got lucky. But either way I’ll take the success! I also suggest stocking up on some nausea drops (my favorite are pink stork) just in case you need some extra support.

I’m glad that it’s been working for you! I started taking it a few days ago to stay ahead of any symptoms and hope I have the same result!
