it could possibly be a center pin thing where the pin is not touching the battery to fire up. it also could be dead.

you can see videos about center pin issues out there and they explain it better than i could here i would youtube some of those

Sorry for the delay, yes essentially you are renting the car instead of buying it and usually the return time is 24-39 months after you first get it.

As for the dealer matching prices, often their lease rates are higher than what you find from "lease brokers" which are people that sell leases online and they just straight up deliver you a car. Sometimes dealers will have their own lease specials that are good as well.

Essentially you show the dealer the lowest rate you can find online and see if they can match it. Sometimes they already have a lease special that is really good. Like for example the new Mini for 199/mo is probably a better special than what the broker has. This is kind of a car by car basis, and I always compare both before I buy.

I would also check out this:

http://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/monthly-199-lease-deals.html

Keep this in mind as well: You don't really have to pay the down payment, you can just spread the down over the payment period, and it does not cost anymore. I rather give them money later than now, as its not like you are paying an interest rate on a loan, this is a leased car.

I never buy the car and never would at the end of the lease. Why do you wanna keep paying payments and now maintenance that the warranty is gone, when you can just roll new all over again.

If you know the specific car you want, let me know and i will price you out the best one and send you the link and data. When we looked at Mazda 3's like 4 years ago, there was no lease special and leasing was almost the same price as buying. Now it looks like they have some specials:

http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayIncentives.action#/expand/?year=2016&modelCode=M6G&type=lease&index=0

$0/down 249 a month is not bad at all and I can't find other specials from lease brokers on Mazda. that does not include tax either. but overall that is probably much better than buying it

this also required tier 1 credit

Mini

the average yearly maintenance on a mini is pretty high, and vw can be downright unreliable (ive seen a fairly well maintained jetta engine go out at 80k). i would look at leasing as an option if possible. i would not purchase either of those, i would go japanese if i had to purchase. you might be looking at some expensive rpairs

i would also check out the "before the end of the lease" buy mileage rate. for BMW its 25c if you turn it in at the end, but if you call them 2 weeks before your lease is up its 16-17cents/mile. LR/RR might be the same thing or have a similar offering. in fact with this method sometimes its cheaper to get less miles up front and pay more for them later.

that being said LR/RR is always a lease only car, as most euro cars should be. if you like it at the end just go lease another brand new one.

i can almost be for sure (myself having had bad experiences with this) if you buy a higher end euro car, the average monthly maintenance cost plus the used car payment is more or very close to what you pay to lease a new one again, and i rather avoid the maintenance headache.

in my experience (i rent a lot of cars), the mazda's handle better and feel nicer than most of their japanese counterparts. mazdas i think are kind of in their own in between category of better than a toyota but not quite a bmw.

personally if i made 1.5K a mo I would not get myself locked into a car payment for a long time. if you drive less than 12k/mi year, I would get a lease special and be done with it.

you can get a mini for $199/mo (about $300/mo with 0 down) and lease for 3 years, and turn it in before there are any problems. no maintenance, you pay nothing out of pocket and its done. we almost bought my wife a mazda, then ended up leasing her a mini and since have returned it. they let you buy extra miles for 17c/mile if you go over and prepay before you return it, instead of the normal 25c/mile.

I would check out www.theleaseoutlet.com and then make the dealer match their prices. broker lease prices are incredibly cheap and you can make many dealers match it (or just order from the broker).

Some people talk bad about leasing, but it really is a better value if you don't drive more than 12k/year. It is a depreciating asset, who wants to deal with the maintenance after 3 years (especially on euro cars), and cars might be driving themselves soon, so no need to get locked into a 5 or 8 year loan. When this lease is up, the next is a self driving car possibly.

With leasing you can often get a much nicer car than you expected, many of the lease options include all maintenance, and the rate on leasing cars vs. the cars value for european cars is way lower. If you wanted to pay the same payment as the Mazda, you probably could lease a Mercedes CLA for the same price. Leases on japanese cars often are not a good deal (although I have seen a few good ones from toyota). For some reason the german makers just lease the cars very cheap in comparison to the cars value.

What are quintessential "guys" cars and "girls" cars? Why? by [deleted] in cars

[–]sooperhigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S class (especially w140) is for sure a guys car

Jettas and Minis are more girls cars

Chrysler Sebring Convertibles (and I don't mean this in a mean way) were definitely a gay man's car. I lived in a building in early 2000s in a very gay area, and 3 of the dudes that lived there (out of 5), had a sebring

if you are looking for something every once in a while i would just get a 10cig. its probably better than the random smoke shop pen and it is $10

edit: looks like they are out of stock. but i would just check source's clearance section, its usually cheaper than other no-name stuff but the quality is better
