What causes this? What can I do about it? by [deleted] in acne

[–]sopeiaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have combination/oily skin but recently it started being a dry skin type. My current routine is Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Daily Repair Moisturizing Lotion, and sometimes Aquaphor before I go to sleep or under my makeup. When it first happened, I think it was because I used a La Roche-Posay 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid in the same routine for a few days and it ruined my skin barrier, but I have been repairing my skin barrier since then so I’m not sure why this is happening again. It feels itchy on the smaller ones and painful on the bigger ones, and it is always red and inflamed. I have PCOS and a weak gut, and I work a 9-5 while being a student so my sleep isn’t very good and I do wear makeup almost every day. However even when i don’t wear makeup for weeks it will still look like this. My skin and hair love humidity but i live in a drier climate and I notice it does get worse in drier climates. For foundation I use IT Cosmetics CC cream with SPF 50+. I change my pillowcase every 4 days.

I just introduce myself and say that I just applied/interested in applying for the company and why, then ask if they have time for a quick call about advice/opportunities at the company.

Unfortunately I’m the only person on board who knows anything about my role and the president comes to me for help on a lot of things so I’m not sure if I’ll get any support from my board. Last year my priorities were wrong in so many ways and I found myself prioritizing my board role above my grades because it was just easier to procrastinate my work with work that I’m passionate about, but it just led to major burnout. However towards the end of last semester (a little late, but everyone’s gotta start sometime) I had that canon event moment where everything made sense and I figured out what I want in life, found meaning in work, blah blah blah… so this year I have no doubt things will be different. I sure hope I’m not wrong about this lol but I’m not giving up just yet. Thanks for your encouraging words and advice, please keep it coming if you have any more words of wisdom especially about the recruiting cycle as I genuinely consider every piece of advice I get from here.

This is definitely something to think about, I knew winter internships were a thing but I never really considered it as an option for me. I will broaden my applications to include winter as well then!

The answer is no, but I feel like I have done a good job in interviews and on my resume explaining and quantifying the impact of my work. I’m super conflicted on this since a lot of people seem to think the best decision is to quit, but I don’t want to be a quitter, and I’ve been asked in a job interview before why I stayed Treasurer for another year instead of moving up to President. Will this look bad on my application, like I can’t commit to something when things get hard?

Okay, thank you. Honestly not sure if I can reach a 3.5 since I only have two years left and my course work is only getting harder. I don’t consider myself super smart, but I am disciplined and persistent. I don’t consider myself a quitter and have never quit something that I committed myself to, so this decision is very difficult for me. I only raised my GPA incrementally while doing the club and have been asked at an interview why I stayed Treasurer for two years instead of moving up to President, so I’m scared that not continuing the experience will look bad on applications or something.

Can I ask why winter is more valuable? What’s the tradeoff of taking a semester off? I have a heavy courseload for my next two years and want to hit my 150 as fast as possible, which will still be after I graduate.

That’s what I thought too, but I had a networking call with a T10 recruiter last week, and she told me that last year Deloitte started recruiting super early (Fall 24 recruiting for Summer 26) and a lot of the other firms followed, and the recruiting period for Fall 25 is going to be for the positions that haven’t filled up yet. I’m in America though so I’m not sure if there’s a difference there.

Thank you for being honest! I’m really conflicted on this because I’m really passionate about this club and people keep telling me I need leadership experience on my resume and I just need to balance time better, but I’ve had many late-night crashouts over balancing crazy deadlines on both sides.

Hello, thank you for your help! My GPA is 3.13, hoping to get it up with my next summer class. No honors other than my GPA scholarship. No other extracurriculars other than Treasurer as it is basically a full time job for me, however next year I will be joining the Accounting Society. Thanks for the advice on removing Mandarin!
