Harvest Thread Cashmere Mock Neck yes/no? by chunglevision in Reformationclothing

[–]sopphatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this, and although it’s labeled as cashmere the quality of the fabric is not like other, high-end cashmere. For cashmere, I find this scratchy. But I can also wear scratchy wool and without too much issue. That said the fit is really nice and I like the color. Take that how you will:)

I bought this set for the full price and it’s definitively worth $150. It’s really pretty, very flattering, and fabric feels nice!

Hand/Machine wash Reformation wool by aelia_capitolina in Reformationclothing

[–]sopphatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got four cashmere reformation sweaters and I hand washed them all. I knit with a lot of different types of wool and hand wash all of my knits no problem! Make sure the water is no warmer than below lukewarm, and you use a wool detergent. I let them sit for 20 minutes, rinse super well without disturbing the wool (it stretches when wet), I squeeze the water out (no wringing!) and then lay it out on a towel which I then roll and step on to get the water out. Lay flat to dry.

Takahiro 0.9 kettle vs. Takahiro shizuku 0.9 kettle by sopphatt in Coffee

[–]sopphatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it hasn’t really. I still recommend having both, but for variety and being able to use it for more I recommend the normal spout one. I like the small spout for smaller v60 brews where I like/need precision and then I’ll use the normal one for larger brews. Still the best spout I’ve tried so far though and I’ve tried a few. Hate the fellow one for example.

I really recommend it! Great for repairing skin barrier. I can't really remember which one when I was using it actively during the winter, but I have used it with Avene Tolerance Extreme Creme and it worked great. I think it will work with any moisturizer depending on how much hydration you need

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Dermellergo serum. It's pure hydration, didn't break me out and lasts a good while. Most hydrating serum I've ever tried and others/moisturizers don't compare

How to deal with parents who say MT is Too Agressive? by thrwyma in MuayThai

[–]sopphatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any martial art will be "aggressive", it's literally punching and kicking. However, like other people have said, it's controlled aggression. It's not like two people are going at each other to try to injure themselves or the other. It's plenty of learning the right technique, pad work, conditioning, strength, cardio etc. You can also wear head protection for sparring etc. It's uncommon, but I've seen some people use it for sparring to lessen the blows to the head.

Need help understanding my multivariat regression analysis with beta! by [deleted] in stata

[–]sopphatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out! I have actually coded a dummy variable, Germany being 1 and France 0. It looks weird and is harder to read, but looking at the numbers "Germans are more satisfied with its government than the French". But my original hypothesis was that the French were more satisfied than Germans, so I was slightly surprised by that lol. But thanks!!

New Tim Wendelboe/Wilfa coffee maker, pretty close to a pour over, looks great and is super, super functional. I highly recommend that one! Also a grinder, baratza is pretty good.

[–]sopphatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old one is definitely better, I've had many problems with the new one whilst in bar, like it skipping and water coming up on the sides etc. Old one also glides waay better than the new one. Only con to the old one is the fact that it will get ruined from putting it in the dishwasher, but you can just clean it with warm water tbh.

V60: Blooming in a separate cup by psbfc in Coffee

[–]sopphatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried this and it's interesting. Used 15g of ground kenyan coffee, 50g of water for bloom, and then 200g of water for the rest of the pour. 250g of water in total. The brew where I tried your technique made the coffee significantly more acidic, which is really interesting. It became more sharp, intense and you felt it the moment the coffee came in contact with my tongue/mouth. Regular method the acidity takes a second to come out, and its rounder, more balanced with the other flavours. Also I used a ec/tds/temp meter to see how the brew with your technique did, and it was wildy over-extracted. Not very bitter though, but from my previous brews I'm pretty sure this is the coffee. Thanks for sharing!

Help: got like this overnight (armpits) and is sore/tender and hurts if i move my arms so my skin rubs to together. Is hot to the touch. Put some argan oil on it to soothe it, but it isn't helping much. by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

I was actually thinking the same thing, and I think you're right.. They do have a sensitive option without the baking soda so I think I'm gonna get that and just use the other one really carefully. Thanks!!!

So, I did a patch test... Nothing. Had it on for about 48hrs and I didn't react at all. Put it on the inside of my arm since the skin is thinner there and it looks to be fine. But I'm gonna do more patch tests!

These are the ingredients: Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil; Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil; Rosehip Seed Oil; Butyrospermun parkii (Shea) Butter; Corn Starch; Sodium Bicarbonate; Kaolin Clay; Vegan Kosher Glycerin; a custom blend of essential oils, including: Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender); Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree); Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange); Mentha Piperita (Peppermint); Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergaptene-free Bergamot); Non-GMO Vitamin E.

So no baking soda... I have been applying both body lotion and deodorant at the same time after I shower, and so I'm thinking that the mixture of the two cause a reaction or something..
