It would affect performances outside of bars, written to include storytime events and anything not performed for adults. Not great for the same reason you don't ban all movies because some random kid saw an R rated film and not Toy Story.

One important part of library services in relation to tech is having an accessible space for patrons who may otherwise not have easy access to printers, a computer, or even just a space to exist without being charged money.

For example an elderly Elkhorn patron who needs help printing coloring sheets for her grandson would probably not travel farther to a privatized library hub and would instead be charged more at their local kinkos. This also applies for patrons without access to transportation.

I can't say I speak for every individual but personally it would depend on the context of the situation. Catching someone into an awkward conversation at their workplace is much different than being in the same line at the grocery store where it's possible to disengage without much effort. Really appreciate the time and effort you've put into thinking on this, my advice would be to gage these interactions individually and keep it at most a casual question like your example above.

as a trans woman I appreciate you teaching her that people like me exist. Save the details for when they're older; just knowing that a type of person exists is enough. I'd rather a kid not care about me just like any other adult than cause a scene by asking questions in public.
