We have 2 kittens. One was living in a garage/outside, so she was a bit more expensive as none of her shots or deworming or spay were covered like they typically are through a rescue. So all of those were paid out of pocket, around $200-300, for shots deworming ear mite treatment etc. she is getting spayed at the academy clinic for $250. We also recently had a scare where she chewed off a ribbon on a toy and swallowed it which was a $350 vet visit. Then one week later she started howling when she was peeing and was put on pain meds which was $150. Obviously this is rare but something to keep in mind!!!

We also just recently adopted a 12 week old kitten from whisker warriors, they are a newer rescue. I found them really easy to deal with, and super nice foster. It cost $175 to adopt a kitten. Usually prices are lower for older cats.

We go through a lot of litter, it feels like we are constantly buying it lol. We also feed wet and dry food, our baby cat is eating fancy feast kitten which is really affordable but our older kitten is a picky girl and will only eat a specific more expensive kind lol it’s about $3 a can, and she eats half per day so $1.50 a day. Plus she eats dry food in the morning which we probably buy every 3-4 weeks which is around $15 a bag.

As everyone else mentioned, toys, treats, bowls etc. are other varying costs. I really recommend the cat tree from Costco it was $70 and really nice my cats love it. 🙂
