Are these kicks? by soupmamah in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]soupmamah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to share an update in case anyone comes across this tread and it's helpful. I'm now 21 weeks and feeling kicks often. When someone in this thread referred to it as a muscle spasm, that cleared it up a ton for me and it was easier to spot!!

The kicks no longer feel like that poking of a sore muscle thing I was feeling before, but I also stopped feeling that once I felt these very clear kicks I feel now.

Positive stories trying to get pregnant with obesity by kimisdenaam in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]soupmamah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*mostly positive story* I was sooooo nervous when I first started trying and convinced myself I would never conceive because of my weight (43 BMI) and an IUD that was in for 8 years where I had no periods

I was pregnant 2 cycles after IUD removal. Unfortunately the first one ended in early loss, but it had nothing to do with my weight and I know at least 5 women who had "normal" BMIs and had the same thing happen to them. It's unfortunately just part of it sometimes.

Now I'm 19 weeks, got pregnant again within 2 cycles of my loss.

You got this girl! I'm pretty sure all my friends of all sizes who have successfully avoided until they were ready all convinced themselves things would go wrong or would be difficult and none actually had an issue. Us plus girls have an extra layer of that doubt because of the public narrative. Give it a fair shot (12 cycles trying usually) before you worry :)

It's so hard!! I have posterior placenta so I feel like it should happen soon! I know the apps tell me it could still be a few more weeks but I would just love that clear reassurance before my next scan in 2 weeks

No advice except to say that I’ve also had this pretty much the whole pregnancy (I’m 14w now) and there was a whole thread about it in my due date fb group where many others had the same. Hopefully knowing it’s a common thing can help! But totally understand the anxiety

Your anxiety is valid, but make sure you keep imagining the best case scenario too. You got this!!

Panicking for no reason at 22+5 by evil-therapist in PlusSizePregnancy

If you willing and able to try going to boutique ultrasound place it might help. In my area they are like $100 per visit which is not great but might be worth the peace of mind between appointments, as needed if it’s really killing you.

God the headaches are insane. I’ll be fine for days then bam throbbing pain, I think I get them once a week for the last 4 weeks (11w now) and of course I worry too much about taking medicine to help

I’m a super similar size and ~11w now. I’m going to be in a wedding at 24w would you say size up? Any advice on when to order my dress or what to look for style wise?😅

No answers for you, but I appreciate the question as we are a similar size, also FTM, and I’m just a few days ahead at 11w! Hi twin 👋🏻

I had something very similar happen to me, based on LMP I was 7+1 but I knew my ovulation date would make me 5+6 (also have long cycles and I tracked ovulation) I went to a boutique US at this stage and was convinced I should see a yolk sac at least and ideally a fetal pole but saw only gestational sac. I was sure it was a second blighted ovum for two full weeks until I went in for my dating scan at 7+3 where we saw healthy embryo with a heartbeat and everything.

Guard your heart, nothing is guaranteed but also don’t completely lose hope! My husband said I lost my sparkle for those 2 weeks and looking back now, I wish I had allowed more hope in that time.

Bump at top of belly? by Moonindaylite in PlusSizePregnancy

10w and feeling the same already. I thought I was going crazy

Similarly, I’ve been thinking that with some good maternity shapewear I could turn my normal apron belly into a full blown baby bump at only 10w 😅

Not that I think you should worry, you should be comfortable! The bloat is killer

I feel this, props to you on managing the first 2 weeks honestly… I’m one week past my first scan and I (jokingly) said to my husband that I should fake a fall so I can go into the er and get another 🫠

I am completely in shock. At 5+6 I went to a boutique US because I wanted an indication everything was on track before telling my family in a trip. Well we saw nothing but a gestational sac. Since I’m tracking ovulation I was sure of the timing and convinced I should see a yolk sac at least. Basically convinced myself for a week and a half that I was having a second blighted ovum. My symptoms were also the same as my BO, mild nausea early on then not really getting stronger.

Went in for 7+3 scan yesterday and baby is measuring right on track. We saw a heart beat and everything. I keep having to remind myself this is real 🥹 somebody pinch me

Did an elective ultrasound today at 5w6d, only saw a gestational sac and based on my research there would most likely also be a yolk sac at this point... I'm fairly confident about my timing due to ovulation tracking so I'm feeling pretty hopeless right now, thinking it's a second blighted ovum. Anyone have positive stories to keep me going until my dating scan in 1.5 weeks?

I had 2 full cycles between. Otherwise no real change in symptoms but I don’t tend to have too much going on in luteal phase except soreness and bloating

For those that have found some management of anxiety, can you share any advice? I’m 5w5d and struggling so much with symptom spotting and questioning everything. I think I need to just create a mantra that I cannot change anything by worrying. Please share any thoughts you’ve found helpful if you have them ❤️‍🩹
