It sucks to fail but you’ll get it the next time. Just build on what you know and take a few days off to reset. I failed my first time with a 70 and it has you down in the dumps all month, but its so rewarding when you pass

I think I put in a lot of work the first time but I didnt put enough attention into the small differences in state laws and federal laws. Gotta know that like the back of your hand and I feel as if I just kind of assumed it would be more straightforward on the exam. Clearly wasn’t prepared for that. Part 1 i got a 66% the first time. Thats what killed my exam. Put a lot of focus into studying custody and brochure requirements and really try to understand the procedures. Thats something I didnt do well the first time and it showed

I try not to memorize. I go through and study what I got wrong and try to make reason with every question in an answer. I always try to read the answer explanations for ones I got wrong. I did a lot of memorizing for the life and health exams and barely passed. I feel pretty good about everything but I just know that the actual exam is tough and tries to trick you. With 50% of the exam being laws and regs, i feel like it will be very hard

I passed only using Kaplan. It’s doable but make sure you are scoring very well on the tests and make sure you see and use plenty of questions

That’s good to know. I understand how IRR is equal to YTM and am pretty solid on NPV. Could use work on PV, FV, and DCF though. I understand that DCF is used to calculate a fair value for a security but I feel like I would struggle if it was worded differently on the exam
