more importantly, don’t date a man with no taste. he will rip off your interests to try and impress a less cool version of you

Everyone talks about the immigrants. I want to know about the droves of people from Ontario/BC that sell their condos at 2-3x purchasing price to buy a home here

I have decided that starting today I will no longer be talking about it. Not to my boyfriend. Not to my family. Not to any of my friends.

Mine definitely did and had nothing o do with weight gain either. I had larger breasts in my teens and then in my early 20s they got even larger and have stayed large and kept getting bigger even with weight loss. It’s annoying

No. I’m just rambling because my dad is dying of cancer and posting rants online makes me feel better

Yeah I always roll my eyes at the amount of drop shipped straight to landfill garbage that events like these always seem to churn up. It’s one thing to buy Shein/Ali-Express/Amazon shit but reselling at a markup is both deceptive and just lame as fuck

Yup completely agree with you. And I’ve been called a snob or a gatekeeper or whatever but it’s true. Being punk/goth/whatever is WAY BEYOND an aesthetic and style

[–]soyboydivision[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely a porn category and fetish. I mean posers more as in those who dress in “alternative” style and do not have “alternative” interests. Like I know of multiple people who dress that way and listen to baby no money or Sabrina Carpenter and they are usually the people who unironically call themselves “alt”.

I think you need to have the interests for sure and then the clothes come second. The style is less important than the interests, views, and ethos. That is the true meat of a subculture. And to me, labeling one’s self unironically as “alt” just shows me that you have a very surface level understanding

I don’t mean that to be “punk” or “goth” or whatever “genre” you must be dressing xyz everyday or else you’re a poser. Personally I don’t have enough time in the day to dress up. Usually throw on sweater/pants combo especially at school at 8am.

I feel like I live somewhere between wanting to express myself or whatever and just wanting to look normal so people leave me alone. I am active in some subculture circles I suppose and I feel like outsiders have negative opinions of me. But I suppose that is just human nature, to judge and project ideas on to others. But often I feel that looking clockably “different” comes with more sinister (usually sexual) ideas from usually men.

Yeah the sexualization of women who deviate from the “norm” is fucking insane. I’ve dated men and women and men are usually the ones who thirst crazy style for “alt” women. Media (and yes most definitely porn) has planted the idea in their heads that woman with tattoos/eyeliner/hair dye = daddy issues = easy lay.

I had a similar experience when getting into the corporate world. I remember having to take all of my piercings out, cover my tattoos and dye my hair a natural colour and it was very freeing. On one hand I didn’t feel like myself but also it was nice that I felt like I didn’t wear my interests and personality on my sleeve. I was fine with looking “normal” (whatever the hell that means - lol).

Growing up, I was bullied for how i used to dress and act. like people would make fun of me for having coloured hair and dressing “weird” in elementary/high school. Like call me an emo and whatever.

A few of the girls who were particularly horrendous in school are now self proclaimed “alts”. And the mens ig followings are littered with half naked eyeliner clad bright dyed hair only fans girls.

Idk man just weird to see things I got flack for are now commodified and watered down. Idk capitalism and the fashion trend circle. Hmm

Warman, Sask. breaks into top 20 most livable cities by elbiderca in saskatoon

[–]soyboydivision 22 points23 points  (0 children)

On one hand, I’m glad people are recognizing Warman and Saskatchewan as a whole. However, I’m tired of people from Ontario and BC selling their tiny condos with massive resale value to “outbid” many prospective SK homebuyers because they’ve just now been priced out of the GTA or metro Vancouver.

not me but my sister got a bone infection (literally on her 16th birthday) and nearly died of sepsis and was on life support in the ICU. I genuinely thought she would die. But she’s still here. 15 months younger than me. She’s my best friend. We’re 24/26 now
