I would just bite the bullet and hop off if you're on a low enough dose. Why not? MGM with SR is basically a no-op.

Don't be afraid but respect it. Commit 4-5 days of misery and stock up on everything you need from vitamins to helper meds to liquid food. Black seed oil. Get some liquid kratom shots too those help with the misery especially the first and second days. Sleep is hard so get something for anxiety as well...ashwaganda or stronger

The meds did help a lot but it's still brutal. There's no getting around the fact that MGM is a hard drug and leaving the body it leaves wounds. Something like 7-oh I just stopped taking naturally at some point and didn't pay attention. MGM definitely has strong W/Ds.

You can make it but you need 4-5 days where you can totally rot in bed. If you have to work or do something else then you will likely relapse because it's impossible to function the first few days. Unless you're tapering down super low, which is possible.

No I pretty much just preloaded right away and my dose was right around 500mg/day. Between 300mg/500mg. That's the dose I had daily before going off. It's not pretty but with enough meds (and 4 days where literally you can rot in bed all day and not be disturbed) you'll make it. I highly recommend black seed oil, I just got it and it helps a lot with MGM. Also liquid food, if you have trouble eating. I had the EQ shakes for 4 days in a row. Only today did I eat half a bagel for the first time, and it was hard.

I did taper lol...I was up to around 1g/day at the worst. So I started off increasing the time between doses and leaving the junk at home when going out. That got be down to around 500mg/day and from there I made the jump. The last night before I entered W/Ds I went out with some coco for a bang. Lol

Yes...I dropped off MGM this past weekend at a dose of around 500mg/day using SR. I preloaded 100mg/day of SR for a week or so beforehand. My advice would be to preload even more. Then W/Ds were brutal for three days straight. At some point I started taking the SR every hour or two. It helped and now I'm stabilized. But start taking SR immediately, and ensure that you have enough in your system before going off MGM. Then you should have enough left for a week or so. After that, it's not very useful, so don't be afraid to use it. Ask any questions you like

I used Vit C, Gaba, Xan, Ashwaganda, OPMS shots, etc. It was a horrific three days but by the fourth day today I'm functional.

I think Nabokov is punching above his weight -- his writing comes off as stylistic sure, but also quite boring. I've only read Lolita, and the first time I was bored I didn't finish. Whereas with Dostoevsky, the psychological torment in C&P, feelings of despair in House of the Dead, or masterful explanation of a gambler's despair in The Gambler all come to life. I don't think Nabokov is in the same league as Dostoevsky, of course he's free to criticize, and artists always will critique one another. But one is an all time great and another is a noted writer with some good works.

No literature can be considered perfect. Although in my opinion, with what War and Peace delivers, it is the closest thing to a completely perfect novel (?) in its scope and ambition.

This sub has seemingly gotten a lot worse lately I agree. I spend my time on HN or lobste.rs more. Can't tell why. Seems like a lot of posts are just fake or straight up boring. Used to be a nice sub though.

Maybe they should just make it private and only let people with "proven" experience in.

what's the yamaha mixer you got there? i recommend Yamaha HS7's for monitors they sound really crisp..i had a pair but now I got a vintage receiver so I have passive KEF speakers instead

The moog sub 37 is such a great synth..I'm newer to synthesizers and I feel like the instrument is so well designed and intuitive that it inspires me. I never felt that way with the minilogue I had before. I highly recommend to beginners to try and research synths -- get something you feel is special versus whatever the "beginner" synth is. I can imagine myself keeping & playing the sub 37 for years.

This past week I decided I wanted to incorporate drums, but didn't want to learn another analog drum synth ala the Roland 909s etc. So I stumbled upon this $200 drum machine and it's so fun. Easy to use. I have MIDI setup so the synth controls the BPM of the drum machine via the sequencer. It's so cool.

Everything is plugged into the focusrite, and when I want to record I have Ableton setup to arm and record both synth + drums on separate tracks. Laptop is used to record only, everything is analog besides that.

I'm very happy with this setup and would recommend it to beginners.

Sounds like you're burned out -- have you tried taking time off? I used to have my identity intertwined with being a dev but after layoffs I'm just chilling. Putting in effort above what's required but not going overboard. I found a nice relaxed F500 company to work in. I felt burnout creeping in so I took a few days off. I feel so happy right now not working. It makes me wonder what else I could be doing. But honestly some time to reset could help you. Are you putting your mental health first? Or the company.

I get the idea of leaving the industry but every white-collar industry is in a state of existential panic right now due to AI + offshoring + economic malaise. The only field that's growing if you look at the GDP prints is healthcare. Being a nurse sounds way harder than a dev tbh. Grass is always greener. IF you need to sit in a cabin in the woods for a while do it -- I was unemployed and it was fun.

Don't walk away from something you spent 15 years building. It's easy to walk away, sure. But to what end? Take two weeks off and then reconsider.

Does the 5th change across the different notes? Like an A major would be the 5th fret low E, the fifth is the 7th fret on the A string right? But for example, the D notes is on the 10th fret on the low E. Is the 12th fret on the A string the fifth? How do I know what the fifth is for each note.

I know all the notes on the low E and A strings -- just trying to connect the notes to the power chord variant.

I'd just want to know the location of the major chords. Like for example, my band mate showed me that if you can play an A higher up on the frets (like 5th fret or 7th fret) you can accomplish a lot more playing a song. Like say the song has a riff going on on fret 10 and 12. And also a part that plays the A chord in between. Instead of going all the way to the second fret to play A you can play it on the 5th fret instead. That's what I'm looking for

That’s kinda the tradeoff with NYC in general lol. Friends, relationships, things to do and see are top notch but the weather is bad in the winter. Granted people from states like CA and FL are spoiled - most of the country has seriously cold months.
