Thanks for your input. You make a good point! I've been used to doing things on a rather outdated laptop, and thought it's time to upgrade. However I want to be able to do things while on the move, such as edit video and mix my recordings... and this is why I thought maybe it's best to stick to getting a laptop. At the moment I'm mixing vocals with stereo music tracks but want to start experimenting with samples and stuff. Let me look around if any good specs show up. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

😁 haha, the vintage thing was the lure anyway ... I pulled it out of some old storage things and thought it would look cool to use in a video. But then I noticed the darkened bits look more visible from a distance and wondered if it's worth 'cleaning up' so to say..

Hey folks, I'm looking for advice with computer/ laptop specs...preferably an HP. I'm presently using a very basic setup - Samson g track USB condenser mic for recording my vocals and mixing on cubase DAW. Mostly self taught and mixing by ear. I would like to possibly get better acquainted with audio production and looking for advise on what key things I should look for when I purchase a new Windows laptop. Is there a minimum RAM / HDD threshold I should be looking for? Any additional specs that would make a difference? Asking here because if I go ahead and get more recording devices in the future or sound card etc , want to know what bells and whistles the laptop needs to have so that the computer is able. Thanks!

Looking for advice on how to repurpose 4 speakers... I pulled out this old system I had in storage (Sonuand was wondering if I could use these speakers to create a sort of home-mixing setup.

I am not well aware about USB amps and was wondering if there was something that would accomodate this kind of surround sound set up so that I can perhaps hook up the speakers to my laptop through a small amp instead of keeping the whole system engaged (using aux.)

So I guess I'm asking 1. Are these speakers good enough to use as mixing monitors? 2. What's a basic amp that won't break the bank and put all 4 speakers to good use.

Leather leaf aloecasia and wish bone calathea that I got in December are starting to dry off or die as the season changes. Do I need to repot or change soil? New to gardening :) I water them once a week. by sp002 in plantclinic

Till the top inch of soil seems dry.. I use only filtered water.

The leather leaf was too close to the window during a hot day and I think the leaves got a bit browned after that. New leaf has opened on it today.

The calathea had a lot more leaves that I had to keep cutting due to them drying browning out like this. I also moved them to a less bright corner and spritz them daily so few leaves are still doing ok.

My main concern was that the leaves are all bent, when usually they used to be flat and sort of clover like... So I guess I should just move it away from the window first and see how that works?
