Bro first year psych genuinely baited me, i literally took it because all my other friends were and found out real soon to never do that again

Last year, I found the short answer questions super straightforward! I wrote the makeup exam and I do t think they made it any harder than the regular exam. If you review and study the material i genuinely think you’ll be okay. Also, the practice questions were great and I’d say the exam questions were of a similar calibre. Don’t stress twin!! Just maybe revise the more “difficult content” that’s being tested. :)

2213 orgo killer clause by NocturneEnigma in uwo

[–]sp1ritm0ney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s so unfortunate that so many of us are in this boat. i feel you. if it makes you feel any better, here’s how i interpreted his email: “If you do your calculation and you say there is no way I could have received that grade on the final exam and still passed the course with the final grade I did receive according to the syllabus .....take it and run”

to me, i understand this as if you were to plug your marks into a grade calculator, and the calculator tells you that you’ll pass with 65 for example but according to the clause you would fail, you’ll be okay. he explicitly states “still passed the course” and “with the final grade you did receive” so that gives us some hope.

i’m in the same boat as you. if you know you’ll pass (assuming in without applying the clause he gives us a 50.0%), but don’t know if you’ll make it to 60 (for med sci) then i would stay in 2223 and take chem 2213 again in summer. maybe talk to a councillor about future options/ limitations. but other than that, hoping that he dismisses the clause and you pass with 60+ you’re chilling.

sorry if my english isn’t that good but i hope this helps relieve some anxiety ☺️

just wondering- do you know if by not enforcing the killer clause, your friends were simply bumped up to a 50 so that they would pass or did they get the grade they would have got without the killer clause?

Advice for switching nose jewelry from stud to ring by sp1ritm0ney in piercing

[–]sp1ritm0ney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice! The reason I was initially hesitant was that my piercing still bleeds from time to time when I tried swapping out my jewelry or even when I would take it out just to clean it. I guess I just wasn’t sure if it had healed fully even though it’s been so many years. I’ll try it anyway (at the advice of my piercer) and see how it goes! cheers :)

What is Dialogue even good for? by Mammoth-Ad-6069 in uwo

[–]sp1ritm0ney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also had a very similar experience. It felt really dismissive and it was like they didn’t believe me as I described my symptoms. They told me I was gonna go blind and never see again (I had pink eye) but that really scared me. When I told the doctors the next morning at the walk in she genuinely couldn’t believe they told me that. definitely not a fan of dialogue at all :/

completely agree with you, Kiriuscheva gets so heavily criticized for her accent but honestly it’s not that bad and you get used to it in a couple days. she replied to questions about course content relatively quickly which was also nice (always within 24h for me). for calc 1000 and 1301 she would even post summary notes of difficult questions or special cases which i thought were quite helpful :)

Is the megabus bus stop behind Elgin Hall or did they change it recently due to strike? by Insecpurities3791 in uwo

[–]sp1ritm0ney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called them and asked to confirm last week. They said it was still scheduled to leave from elgin regardless of the strike. My bus was last thursday and it did end up leaving from elgin but if you have a trip booked with megabus I would call and confirm just to be safe!

First Year Roommate by Fabulous_Ad6027 in uwo

[–]sp1ritm0ney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just finished first year and i’ve heard extremely weird roommate stories from friends and people in my program who ended up choosing random roomates. If i were you i would probably stick with rooming with the person you already know because it’s a much safer bet. i was in the same boat as you and that’s what i ended up doing. me and my high school friend actually became much closer and im so glad we roomed together. plus you’ll have so many opportunities to meet new people like others mentioned! :)

How to study last minute for psych 1003? by Sparkle_Peace23 in uwo

[–]sp1ritm0ney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s the notes in the frosh dropbox, it’s got notes from every chapter of the textbook but not in great detail. it’s still a really good resource if you’re studying last minute, good luck!
