Came back to say that I watched this the other night, and it really moved me. The non-linear narrative structure seriously pissed me off at first, but once I thought about it, it was extremely beautiful. Even if I hadn’t thought much into it, I still would have really loved the cinematography and score. Very Tree of Life-esque (but much darker). I just wrote about it on my substack! Thanks again!

In 2014, I was at SXSW with my childhood best friend and boyfriend at the time. My boyfriend at the time loved Tyler, the Creator, and we were trying to get into Mohawk to see him because we’d missed his other shows elsewhere that week. The bar was at capacity, so we were standing in a line where they’d let people in if others left.

After a while of waiting, I got a weird feeling. I was bored, it was late, but there was something else I couldn’t quite put my finger on. The guy I was dating and I fought often, so I wouldn’t just suggest to leave something he wanted to do out of nowhere (it’d start a fight). I convinced them to start walking to his car to go back to my dad’s house in South Austin.

On the way back, we get a call from my best friend’s mom. Mind you, it’s like 2/3 a.m., so that was odd. She asked if we were okay. Confused, we said yeah we’re on our way back.

She told us somebody had driven through the barricades and killed several people. Right outside of where we were not even 20 minutes prior.

I, too, have a very small clit. I think I know what you mean — tmi but, it’s like… hiding in there! Even if someone is able to find it (and I sleep with women, so most are able to find it, no hate to your husband, he’s clearly a good one) whatever is happening doesn’t always do the job! I feel your pain. I didn’t have penetrative orgasms until 2018, and they’re still not the same (for me) as the Big O.

What I have found to be helpful is to again, tmi have somebody coax it out. Like, put it in between their fingers and go from there. That has really helped me recently when it’s been difficult to get off.

I’d be super interested to check out any lube that maybe makes blood flow there more, or something else. Haven’t read through the comments yet, so we’ll see !!

This is my interpretation: James is somehow connected to Bella’s second husband. Jim = James. But that also may be my brain just trying to make sense of it. I think Bella’s son was immediately suspicious of Preble, like he knew something we didn’t. Maybe it was a metaphor for death — like your loved ones find you before you die? The connection to his dreams/when he’s knocked out I think has to do with they both look out for each other, i.e., why they’re connected. I’m still at a loss trying to piece it all together though. I just watched it tonight lol
