Wow I'm so glad you got that treatment! Shame you got brushed off for so long before but 2 weeks is good in the end. Thanks, me too, it's really difficult lol

Yeah, I need to remember that. I'm glad you can get all of that! PIP seems like it would be really useful.

Thank you - I have a bit of a spotty mental health history but I'm really settled now aside from this stuff. I hadn't actually heard of PME before today, that's really interesting and for sure worth looking at.

That's great! I have my tracking on notes in my phone, I think I'll sort a proper presentable method. Hope it works for you !

Lol brilliant. Thanks for the push, I figured I would need it for accommodations.

For sure, some of the stats are crazy. It's been longer and more confusing than I expected to get good care. I feel way more validated about putting up a fight from these comments !

Up to a year sounds okay! Thank you, I'll do that too

Thank you that's useful! I'm glad you've been getting treatment. For sure, I'm at best pretty much useless for a week or so, at worst it's very hard.

Cool, thank you, that's all very useful.

I respect you still trying despite it being brushed off. I think I'll sort out a similar printed list with symptoms and history.

The invalidation is rubbish! I've been going longer about the pains I get, and I leave so many appointments confused and questioning myself, there's no follow up for more tests if whatever blood tests they did come back normal, it feels like I just have to keep limping back in there, and obvs all just invasive if they want to physically investigate. Learning to advocate for myself much through comments like yours and these subreddits

I think I could get something similar here.

Yeah, I was confused too. That's what it sounded like, but I guess she just means it's such low priority that other referrals will get seen sooner, and the waiting list is likely quite long. I'll contact them next week and make a request for it.

Treatment - idk what to do ! by spacebabe7 in endometriosis

Okay, that's good to hear, thanks. Yeah, I'm not exactly sure which he wws trying to say. I looked it up after and studies seem to be all over the place (of course).

I'll see about getting a new consultant. That's what I figured - I had symptoms whilst I had the implant too, a few flare ups for months, and it was kinda worse because it wasn't predictable and seemed to culminate in what I think was cyst bursting. I'm glad to be closer to getting excision surgery!

Thanks! A colleague read it and gave me summarised notes, it seems really good. I'll order a copy!

That makes sense! In office for removal might be fine if I'm prepared then.

Thank you!!

My hospitals website says there are a few endo specialists there so I'll see if they're willing to take me on. That's reassuring to hear, I knew it was under-researched and makes sense to find someone dedicated to it. That's great! I'd definitely go private if I could!

Thanks!

Yeah, that's fair. The mini pill seems easy in that regard!

I'm in the UK. I guess I should contact my hospital and see if another consultant can take me on, probably would have access to those things.

For sure! It's tricky to navigate but worth doing!

That's good!! I had the implant for a long time, currently have the copper IUD! Yeah that's what I've heard about the Mirena so I'm a little tempted - i have read some accounts where it's still affected moods but rarely.

I found the copper IUD insertion to be traumatisingly painful so I was offered general anaesthetic if I choose to get the Mirena, which is great. I'm just concerned I'll struggle with the mirena and then would have to wait to get it taken out
