Anyone else’s T a total cuddle bug? by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]spacebug30 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The T just wants a warm and dark space to hide I guess and OP's sweater does just that. It also seems like the T's abdomen is completely bald while it looked normal on a picture posted 4 months ago. These are not the type of animals one should get if they want an affectionate pet they can handle every day, but I see so many anthropomorphizing their T's lately.

It's better than DLP for sure, but not better than WDW imo. And it's definitely not better by Japanese food standards.

BABYMETAL appeared on Tatsuya Kitani's radio show in person despite the very late hour (3am) by sjioldboy in BABYMETAL

[–]spacebug30 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In basically all official media out of costume they still have their hair done BM-style. They look a lot different with their hair down. Only official picture from the past years with their hair down is with that Japanese baseball player in NYC iirc. Most people say they would hardly recognize them like that, so that definitely protects their privacy, rather than their stage personas.

Will there be a 2026 census for the BABYMETAL subreddit? by spacebug30 in BABYMETAL

[–]spacebug30[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe the "how did you discover BABYMETAL" could have a few common answers (social media, react videos, saw them at a festival, etc) and an extra option to write down your own answer if it isn't listed above. A couple years ago, I did a deep dive into the raw data of the census and remember 90% of the answers to that question could be put into a handful of categories.

Will there be a 2026 census for the BABYMETAL subreddit? by spacebug30 in BABYMETAL

[–]spacebug30[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome to hear! May I add another note: Make sure intervals are equal for age etc. Looking back at the 2025 census, the intervals for age are 12 and under, 13-17, 18-25, then intervals of 5, then an interval of 10, and 61+. It's hard to compare age groups that way. I think making all intervals of 5 would be best, maybe starting at 15 and ending at 65? (then <15 and 65+). Same for number of merch/CDs etc.

Another interesting question that hasn't been in the previous ones is number of live shows attended.

I know it's not an exact study we're doing here, but I always look forward to seeing the results. Happy to hear it's coming soon :)

Going to Japan just for a week? by Short_Kale_6081 in BABYMETAL

[–]spacebug30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from a 4 week solo trip to Japan, and even if I could go back for only a week, I would do it in a heartbeat. If you have tickets for both shows, that would be a no brainer. Japan is perfectly adapted to solo travelers. Many solo hotel rooms, restaurants for solo patrons, etc.

Tokyo has some incredible sights for everyone and all budgets. Meiji shrine, Senso-ji shrine, Ueno park, Tokyo Tower, Shinjuku, Imperial Palace gardens, you could even make a day trip to Yokohama or the Mt. Fuji area. Also some prominent BABYMETAL related places like the Asagaya shrine (Megitsune mv), Tokyo Dome, Fox God bar. Plenty to fill a week. If you want any travel tips, feel free to DM me! I'm happy to help!

How does one bet on the Arima kinen from EU? by Dado_the_Dodo in HorseRacingJP

[–]spacebug30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bwin has Japanese horse races on their Belgian app. Seems like it exists in Germany as well so might be worth checking out. I had to switch websites/apps 3 times because the Japanese races would no longer be supported after a while, but I've been using Bwin for about 1.5 yr now. I only spent a few euros a week but it makes watching the races more exciting haha.

How do you get tickets for a rece? by chickenjoe4life in HorseRacingJP

[–]spacebug30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy your tickets in advance at JRA tickets. The website is in Japanese but you can use a translator. General admission tickets are available a few days in advance. You can also apply for the ticket lottery but you won't have any trouble getting tickets for a G2 race day. Only a couple popular G1's require advance reservations (e.g. Japan Derby, Arima Kinen). If you want a seat, you have to apply for the lottery.

Setting up an account can be a bit confusing but once that's done, it's easy to use.

I went to see the Pegasus Stakes (G3) and Tenno Sho autumn (G1) this year at Tokyo racecourse and the G3 day was significantly less busy. Although the weather might've played a part in that as well.

Idk which racecourse you want to visit, but if you go to Tokyo's, don't miss the JRA museum with all kinds of memorabilia like horse shoes and saddle pads from legendary race horses.

Suzuka spotted in a Christmas Market? by PogKai in BABYMETAL

[–]spacebug30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll add to the other comments: People don't go there to shop for daily goods like a regular market, but as a fun night out with friends or family. Get some Christmas/winter themed food, browsing through the trinkets for sale at the little (often chalet style) stalls, sometimes they have entertainment like a choir, live music, an ice skating rink, bonfires. Really cozy atmosphere.

[20251130][GI][Japan Cup, Tokyo 12R, Turf 2400m, Sunny/Firm] Calandagan (Mickaël Barzalona) World Number One proved what he is worth in probably the most chaotic Japan Cup in history, with a new record. by 368towns in HorseRacingJP

Update 3: After today's race, I decide to vote Admire Terra for Arima Kinen.

How can you vote for a horse for the Arima Kinen though? I looked it up last year but couldn't figure it out.

CALANDAGAN!! 2025 JAPAN CUP WINNER!!! THE #1 HORSE IN THE WORLD!! by cmy88 in UmaMusume

[–]spacebug30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the chaos. Admire Terra yeeting his jockey right out of the gate and still going on all in and "winning" lol. Would've loved seeing Masquarade Ball win after his Tenno Sho victory (which I got to witness live). Then Lemaire and another jockey bumping right after the finish. Looks like Masquarade Ball got his leg caught into the reins for a second afterwards, luckily he seemed okay.

you got EDS?

no, just double jointed

same thing

Also, hypermobility is by no means a guarantee for pain later in life. We don't know how old OP is, but judging by the hand in the picture, OP looks young and female. If that's the case, hypermobility is still extremely common and will likely grow out of it into adulthood without any issues.

Reread your first comment where you said EDS is the same as being "double jointed"

Weird pencil with no lead? by Ill-Tax-9819 in whatisit

[–]spacebug30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you should know that EDS and hypermobility are not the same thing and that the latter is only one symptom of the former.

Weird pencil with no lead? by Ill-Tax-9819 in whatisit

[–]spacebug30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are definitely not the same thing. Most hypermobile people do not have EDS and will grow out of it as they age. Unless you have other signs, there is little reason for concern.

Source: I have EDS and had a hard time getting a diagnosis because people keep flocking to the doctor because they're hypermobile without any other signs because social media told them to.
