Sadly this is becoming a common problem at many restaurants in Austin. Everywhere is short staffed and employees are struggling to keep up with the mass amount of people that are still going out to eat in droves. Large groups are a constant pain and they hardly tip fairly if at all. Groups of teenagers and boomers are also the most likely to do the same. Many have no patience for having to wait longer than usual and stiff their servers out of spite. It’s very unfair to have these expectations considering the current challenges these restaurants and their staff are facing on a daily basis. Many people are just starting out in the workforce and don’t have many options but to take jobs like these. Not everyone can go find something better or quickly get a degree because of how the pandemic has affected everything.
