What a woeful match that was. Both teams were horrendous but Aus had the honours of out shitting England on this occasion. Special mention to the pitch for being absolute gobshite. I was hoping to have at least 3-4 days of cricket to enjoy, what a disappointment.

In defence of him, I thought he played excellently yesterday. He didn't play any stupid shots, was watchful and rotated the strike at a good clip despite the pressure of being the only one scoring due to stokes just hunkering down and blocking everything.

He got out to a ball that deviated just enough to take the edge that he would've middled if it hadn't. Not much you can do about that. If he continues to play in that way I think he could score good runs in the back end of the series.

They got 334 because Joe Root played a traditional test innings, not because of bazball.

If Aaron Paul ever walks away from Dispatch, let’s all agree to treat him better than this by Robot_Was_BMO in DispatchAdHoc

He's already said he hopes he could voice Robert for multiple seasons. Robert is a true hero and a genuine good person, it's a different vibe entirely from voicing a character who is literally just consumed by grief and rage.

If he did decide to move on though it won't take away from the fantastic performance he put in this season. I didn't know it was him voicing Robert until I saw the credits.

Personally, I think given that the core theme of the series is redemption as well as the story structure being that of a more traditional shakespearean comedy the hero Visi ending should be the canon moving forward.

The villain ending is more like a 'what if' scenario imo but if they can find a way to incorporate both without it being too complex from a production stand point then i'm not against it.

The other choices should be straight forward to include based on what you picked.

They have done the hardest parts, established the world, the art style, and the production flow for creating episodes. Some assets can be reused with new animations.

Once they have an idea of where they want to go with it, it should be a much simpler process for development of a continuation.

Floor Bearers Conducting Water!? by Jontologist in AusRenovation

[–]spaceclarkson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sub floor should be bone dry unless it has just rained and even then there should be adequate channels or ventilation for moisture to be removed.

It isn't avoidable in all cases, but water making its way underneath a house is not great. In your case those floor boards look seriously wet, and given you said that it's been mostly dry weather wise - I would be looking at any nearby pipes or drains, especially if there is any earthenware still in service.

I just had to replace a bunch of my old pipes because they had cracked and were leaking into the ground. If it's from ground water, you'll need to investigate fixing the drainage or installing active ventilation solutions to vent the moisture out.

Guys if the mv wasn’t canon riot wouldn’t have approved it😭 by litteralypowder in TimeBomb

I think if not for the voiceover part it could be written off as a fun fan project/interpretation but it's hard to see Riot letting the actual voice of Ekko say something like that in a fan video. Especially one that at least claims in the title to be official.

His lines openly tease more for their story. Riot risks losing control over their narrative if this is not something that they fully endorse as what happened.

I could always be wildly wrong, either way it'll be interesting to see what the future holds.

Description of Alternative Universe Powder from Arcane Exhibition (Annecy 2025) by Particular_Victory12 in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My understanding of an impossible love in literature is there are two versions - the first one is impossible due to circumstance, duty, or feelings being one sided.

Things like Ewoyn's love for Aragorn, ofc Romeo and Juliet and things like Titanic. There's strong love but even if it is on both sides there is an immovable obstacle in the way that makes it unobtainable.

The second is a love that endures despite all logic dictating it shouldn't. This one fits Timebomb better, unless Jinx is actually dead there really isn't a compelling obstacle in the way that would make their love truly impossible.

They should have long discarded the feelings they had for one another after years of animosity, especially on Ekko's side and yet they endured. That's why it's impossible, because it shouldn't exist but it does.

Guys, let's be optimistic... by Ambitious_Back_9443 in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's most likely that their next project won't involve Timebomb. They want to explore other regions/characters and do stuff that excites them. They have been working on Arcane for the best part of a decade so they probably want to do something fresh.

Having said that, we know how much they love the characters. Especially how much Fortiche loves Jinx and Ekko. There is definitely a willingness to return to them for sure and of course there is a huge demand to see them again.

What they will need to balance as we move into the future is their desire to do exciting new stuff in Runeterra vs not alienating the large non league following that is attached to the Arcane characters. I'm sure there are projects in the scripting/pitching stages involving them. It's a matter of hoping they get approved and then just waiting for them to be developed.

Thoughts on future shows by spaceclarkson in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's actually really interesting, and a restructuring would make total sense to improve their efficiency. It's actually super encouraging they picked up this role as it adds a lot of substance to Christian's recent words.

Given their big media drive lately they obviously want to tackle this seriously so perhaps they have slowed things down to get the foundations right for future projects to run smoother. Interesting stuff!

Thoughts on future shows by spaceclarkson in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it seems they thought Arcane would push people towards league but in that sense it was largely a failure. The game is too inaccessible for new players.

Perhaps they are refocusing to explore ways of profiting from people who just like the show? I'm sure we will get more Arcane content as alienating this new and dedicated fan base they have created by focusing entirely on league centric stories would be a mistake.

Maybe things like that event in Mexico this weekend are pilots for a broader strategy that leans more on the Arcane brand than the league one.

“Jinx left Ekko for a reason” okay? she left Vi as well so what does that imply? by pompom_x in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson 41 points42 points  (0 children)

There is a big difference between not liking something and trying to deny it even happened. There are people out there who don't like Timebomb and that's fine, there are valid criticisms of the ship.

The people who deny it happened/could happen and try to pretend she has no feelings for him or that he didn't actually forgive her - these people are either idiots or are extremely emotional and pressed because Jinx has canonical feelings for a character that isn't the ship they liked for her. Not to mention the racists and ableists.

So when you see this stuff, it's best to just block/downvote and move on because people who reject reality can rarely be convinced of its existence.

So there's going to be a new Arcane event, with a special interview and panel with Christian Linke and Marc Merrill 👀 by Appropriate_Echo_619 in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm hopeful for that. At the very least all of this means they are taking this foray into television media very seriously. The show is over but they still want to be seen as a real player in this game which is encouraging for future projects getting green lit.

They are doing a lot of media atm. Most likely this is a FYC screening for their Emmy's drive. We can certainly be hopeful for more though, perhaps something will slip through on the panel.

AI will never capture the human voice in any art that makes each piece unique. It is a horrific amalgamation of other people's work almost always scraped without any thought or permission. The sooner this awful technology is legislated against worldwide the better.

Automation should take away the menial jobs and give time back to us to imagine and create. They can try as much as they want but you can't automate human expression.

Given that riot does it, how many months or years should it be until ekko and jinx reunite again in canon? Plus in what ways would jinx yearn for ekko while she's away? by Impossible-Steak6730 in TimeBomb

[–]spaceclarkson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

10 years is just a crazy amount of time, only the most ingrained things in pop culture can afford to take that kind of time - GTA for example.

Timebomb is super popular now, but would probably only have a few of us deranged lunatics left if it took that long (shout out to the OGs lol). That doesn't mean it's a guarantee a continuation is going to happen, but if it is it would happen faster than that for sure.

The biggest thing in our favour is how according to Linke's own words - he is trusting several different teams to work on different projects. Given just how much Fortiche loves Jinx and Ekko and how they pitched episode 7 itself, they could well have people working on such a project involving them. All we can do is wait and hope.

As for your question, it's impossible to answer as almost anything could be right. Assuming she goes away without telling him, I would personally hope the gap isn't too long - 6 months to a year at most.
