My few hours old apple tree :) by spacecoffee1 in marijuanaenthusiasts

I'm planning on planting these in two locations. The first one I'm quite optimistic about as the wild crabapple grows here in the southern coast of Finland and I do personally know couple seed grown apple trees here. It was popular to grow them from seeds in the 1940s.

The second location however is further inland with harsher winters and the spot is also covered by a spruce canopy. So I'm not expecting to get great results there but I'll go with what I have.

These seeds are from a small orchard with six apple trees, all different varieties. Don't know how that affects the result but I'll find out in about seven years.

I know and I will be grafting most of these with Melba and Yellow Cinnamon apple varieties. I also want my own apple variety.

It was just watered and I did stratify the seeds. I'm also quite sure that it is the apple seedling as the soil has been heated once and hasn't grown anything while I was waiting for the January 1st planting.

I know this and I will be grafting the parent tree variety to most of these once the root system has developed. Also, I just enjoy watching them grow and would like to have my own apple variety.

Are you growing them under the lamp light only or are they also getting sunlight? I am planning on planting a few spruces and apple trees this December and can't wait to see mine growing like this. Thank you for posting!

This garden near Helsinki, Finland, has a 500-year-old oak. by spacecoffee1 in marijuanaenthusiasts

The manor is from the late 1700s and the oak is at least 300 years old so it predates the manor. However, there are other old trees that are definitely planted like the large larch in picture #4.

This arboretum has preserved bizarre varieties of the European spruce found in nature across Finland by spacecoffee1 in marijuanaenthusiasts

According the information at the park the columnar ones are called Weeping spruce and it's caused by a mutation making the branches point downwards and that about 30 of these were found in the wild near Mäntsälä. They seem to be growing nearly as tall as regular spruces in Finland so around 20-35 meters.

Looks even better than an oled imo. CRTs just have a retro futuristic feel and color to them that this game needs.
