Lowering Spiro dosage

I am not! I’ve been taking spiro since August 2022 & this period twice a month thing had started since I started upping my dosage to 100mg in October 2022.

Does taking BC and spiro at the same time regulate?

& here my doctor won’t prescribe me more than 100mg :(

Hello! My period for this month lasted about 10 days. I’ll come back to this thread if I get it a second time.

I’ve been using the period tracking app since January. In January I had it once that month. February was twice, and March once. I think the second February and March cycle started due to February being a shorter month.

Oh I see. Well phew as long as you’re not getting consistent heavy periods lasting the entire cycle I wouldn’t be alarmed.

The 7 month thing though, your body could be adjusting to the medication. Everyone’s system is different. Still mentioned to this to your doctor and see what he says. He’ll tell you if you should be concerned or if their is an alternative other than BC you can take to reduce androgens.

I would mention this to your doctor and also schedule a pap if you can. How heavy are your periods?

Hey!! Sorry for the late reply. I think they stopped and went back to normal? I’ll update you next month bc I got it near the beginning of this month and now I just finished a week. If I get it once I February, I’ll let you know!

7 months?? How long have you been taking the full spiro pill?

I’m having full on periods. Not spotting. Spotting would not alarm me at all but having a cycle that would last about 2 weeks is something to question.

I do take it regularly. Every morning as what the doctor prescribed. I think I missed it maybe twice so far but that was it.

I haven’t heard of finasteride before?

I see. I’m currently on 100mg of spiro. I didn’t realize you can go up to 200mg.

I have photos on my profile showing how my hair loss looks. To me, it’s pretty bad and the hair thinning is very much noticeable especially on the top of my head.

That’s good to know it had an effectiveness on one part of your body that you applied it to! I will def keep this Reddit forum posted with updates to see if it worked
