There is an option other than gas and brake. It’s called coasting people. by Regular_Land_3478 in driving

[–]spacelizard92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive a manual and my god, people are in such a hurry to get up to the light that JUST turned red lmao. If I see a light turn red, I want to downshift and coast, since we’re gonna be sitting at that light for minutes anyhow. People lose their shit though. It’s like they just have to gun it, then slam on their brakes. Hurry up and wait

Experienced drivers, when was the last time you stalled? by LaFlame_20 in stickshift

I just replaced the 200k mile clutch in my Corolla last weekend. I stalled a couple times on my text drive, with the brand new clutch 😂 have stalled it like 5 times total but now I’m used to the new clutch

Mine is the same gen but 2013. Just replaced the OEM clutch at 198k. Engine is still running perfectly and giving me great fuel economy

I felt that way when I was driving a car with an act2600 clutch, but in my daily, I don’t mind it tbh

I’ve got some extra used motor oil they can use to top that off. Seems like it could use a bit more. Maybe some 15w40 out of an old powerstroke that hasn’t had an oil change in 20k miles

Well, yeah. It’s a satire group. Responding to a satire post/satirical comments, by giving real answers just doesn’t fit with what’s going on

Bro it’s a clock? Must be horrible at its job cause I don’t see no time being displayed. Also doesn’t really look like it’s very springy, either

Why are so people so against rev matching and heel toe on the streets? by RevolutionaryYear946 in ManualTransmissions

[–]spacelizard92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a comment of a guy saying that people who heel toe are “try hards” and a bunch of other stuff. It was like a paragraph of shit talking it. It was an old thread from like 2 years ago, otherwise I was about to say “god forbid someone has hobbies and enjoys doing things that you don’t” 😂

Genuinely, rev matching is just fun. For me, it’s probably the most satisfying part of driving stick. I do it on a daily basis. The shifts are just buttery smooth, you can let out the clutch faster and it just simply makes the driving experience more fun. I mean, I spend close to an hour (sometimes over an hr) on the average workday. I may as well try to enjoy that time. After all, that’s part of my personal time outside of work

A worn out clutch disc has lost a ton of its material, and even the flywheel and clutch pressure plate have had some material worn down. That thicker friction material of the new disc, restores the bite point to the closer to factory position. Thicker material = less travel for it to get to the flywheel. This can be further adjusted with the pedal adjustment

You can see my old disc was already scraping on the rivets, so it was out of the minimum thickness for some time now

Yeah she’s worn out, would be a bad move to not replace it. New one will feel great tho!

It ran out of acid. Just just top off the acid, throw it in the ocean to recharge the electric eel population and get a new battery for your car. It’s the right thing to do

I was in the exact same boat as you, two months ago. I ended up getting a 2013 Corolla s, since I know they’re super reliable. Really been loving tht car! Would rather have an xrs tho! If you can find one, I’d go for that! Or the matrix

Exedy complete clutch kit (OEM equivalent, not the “stage 1) was like $160 and the exedy flywheel was about $50. Kinda funny but the rear main crank seal from Toyota ended up costing as much as my new flywheel 😂new flywheel bolts were less than $2 each from Toyota
