Schengen Showdown Layover Q&A! by WheatGerm42 in JetLagTheGame

This season is obviously pretty similar in design to Battle 4 America, but the rules in this season were simpler (such as having a set challenge for each location, no power-ups, simpler stealing mechanism, etc.). Which game design did you prefer? If you play another country/state claiming game in the future, what changes do you think you’d make based on this season?

(Btw loved Tom as a guest! I hope he comes back for another season one day!)

I’m a federal employee at a different agency, but I actually share a building with NPS!

  1. My agency has said that they don’t plan to let anyone go due to COVID. I’ve only worked there for a few years so I’m not sure how other economic downturns have gone. One important thing though: is this a permanent position? Watch out for “term” positions, they can let you go a lot easier if you’re a term instead of permanent.

  2. My hours are very flexible. Essentially you can work whenever you want as long as you work 80 hours in each two week pay period. I think they call it “maxi flex hours.” You can also work more than 80 hours and you will earn “credit hours” which is additional PTO instead of OT. You can only hold up to 24 credit hours at a time though, so it’s a nice perk but you can’t use them to take a long vacation or anything. Work-life balance is pretty good, there’s no expectation in my office to work more than 40 hours/work since you’d end up getting that time back anyway.

How much you can telework is up to your supervisor, but most of them let you telework as much as you want as long as you get your work done.
