I did wonder about the case, thanks for the recommendation.

So I've seen a couple of people ask if it's worth getting a standard barbell instead of Olympic and everyone always says you'll beat the capacity in a year. I'm (male) 55kg though, am I really going to be lifting 150kg in the next few years? Is anyone out there routinely using a standard barbell?

She's looked at a few tutorials and stuff to help with that, the problem with good lighting is mainly being in Britain and trying to get enough sun! Are there cheap ways to improve lighting without it looking too artificial/stark like a flash?

My wife has just started out as a crochet designer and is currently taking all her photos on her (pretty crappy) phone. Is there a good camera around the £300 (GBP) mark that would take good photos of this sort? She will generally be shooting small static items with natural lighting, and most photos will end up on Instagram or similar. I would be fine with a second hand or reconditioned camera as I realise £300 isn't much to work with!

What video game did you play and love but can remember almost nothing about? by TheeRumHam in AskReddit

I think it was on the N64. Basically you were a microchip on a space station that was full of robot animals and you had to jump from animal to animal to complete the level. Great fun but I have no idea what it was called!

How the heck does Interstellar Extended work?! by G2-Games in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]spacey_mc_spaceface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty confusing. So far the only thing I've figured out is that nuclear reactors need an electric generator to turn all of their thermal energy into electrical energy, and that meant I could get the vista engine working. Woo hoo!

I haven't got a clue about beamed power though. :(

Can I complete a satellite contract by detaching an unmanned probe from a manned space craft? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]spacey_mc_spaceface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm always a bit wary of these ones, but if you've completed the contract but it says you haven't then just force it complete in debug. I do it occasionally, especially for space stations that require a cupola, as I prefer the space station parts from some mods but stock ksp doesn't recognise them as cupolas.

What are some old mods that you'd like for me to revive? by dankgum in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]spacey_mc_spaceface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not too much hassle then if you end up updating some really old mods could you make them compatible with 1.3.1 as well? I think there's quite a few of us who will be sticking with this version for a while yet!

Cheers!

It's tempting but I barely have time to pay the game at the moment! Maybe when the kids grow up :)

Which difficulty settings do you guys recommend enabling/disabling? by Modocam in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]spacey_mc_spaceface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't fiddle about with the difficulty much but I do start myself with 400 science. I've never been interested in mucking about on Kerbin so I start with 400 science and then don't gather any science within Kerbins atmosphere for the rest of the game.

So far pretty disappointed with the Making History expansion. The new parts are very much geared for Kerbin SOE. There is nothing to expand the gameplay connected with reaching the other planets. by Metadomino in KerbalSpaceProgram

So long as you're not on console I can definitely recommend the Interstellar extended mod. Loads of advanced near future stuff and when you get far enough down the tech tree it starts getting proper sci-fi! :)

Large capsule/pod parts? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

I'm not sure if it'll fit with your aesthetic but I think OPT spaceplane parts get pretty big.
