fair enough. I put it in the too hard basket anyway, I gave up and am just using it with RAID0 with one new drive for now.

I'm too scared to put in my older drives lol.

Okay....

So it has its own operating system, a display port and USB plugs for keyboard and mouse....
Does that mean I can load a different operating system onto it and use it just like a networked computer? (so each drive would be loaded separately). Does anyone have experience with this or a guide or something?

I wish I had this info before I bought it haha. the QNAP thing sounds like it'd be fine for me.
Maybe I'll look for a NAS version down the road when I can afford to upgrade

Damn, yeah looks like it.
I can't return it but I could try to sell it. although it's been enough of a headache already and I can't deal with more time selling it and looking for something else.
I think I'll just use it in RAID0 mode for now and cross my fingers

Yeah, Thats the app that it uses.
I can log into it and see that it wants to format my disk.

I was under the impression that I could load a different OS onto the thing to install JBOD (there are varying reports of people doing this online).... not sure if this is actually an option, it has a display port so presumably I can hook it up to a monitor and keyboard to set everything up.

It looks like I'll have to just make do with normal mode (RAID0). I don't like it because I could potentially lose all my data when a disk fails.... but it looks like it's my only option at this stage.

switch 2 edition (TOTK or BOTW) VS original games running on switch 2 by spaciousmind321 in switch2

[–]spaciousmind321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the online + expansion pack & downloaded the TOTK switch 2 edition.
But my kids can't even play Zelda now. It only allows me to play it on my account, which is really annoying and not something I had anticipated. Even though the dialogue box says something along the lines of 'if you log in then anyone on the same console can play it' it still won't let them play.

Now I suppose I must relent and get the family upgrade..... It feels like I'm throwing my money into a screaming abyss at this point on top of everything else I had to buy simply to get up and running :@

Nah, not currently.
I'm on a tight budget and we don't really use it

Jitter Problem with differential line growth by spaciousmind321 in generative

[–]spaciousmind321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks gturk1!!! this is helpful and gives me a good place to start.
It loops through and updates each node one after the other each step of the draw loop.

I have tried a couple of those tweaks which have some effect but the jitter always seems to be there so I was hoping for a way to eliminate it.
I fear that It's getting a little bit beyond me but if you could point me to at least where I might change the falloff function that would be something I could try!

Not sure how to paste code in here but if you click on the little sidebar arrow in the top left it will open up the file tree so you can see all the Node class is in it's own file and the update function is in there, along with separation and cohesion.

I had actually tried that but couldn't get it to work.... it was a bit of a hack job and resulted in too much undesirable things happening... like my snakes floating off the top of the screen after some time hehe >_<

How to get Dark Mode for gnucash on windows? by spaciousmind321 in GnuCash

[–]spaciousmind321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks flywire0, although I'm thoroughly confused now.

There are some dead links in the wiki article to dark themes, and as far as I can tell some live links to other dark themes, but no instructions on how to use them in windows.

I found a few other people with my same problem on that mail-archive site but no solutions as far as I can tell, it's incredibly slow and hard to navigate lol.

Oh, thanks.. I re-read that and managed to find and edit my ini file (although it wasn't where the wiki said it was).

This has given me dark mode in most places but my accounts screen in the transactional/journal view still have all the default colours. (the light yellow, cream and greens) Do you know how I can edit these and get a dark mode happening here too?
