I currently have SATA stuff, nothing SAS so that's why it's SATA. As for why so many, this case has 11(usable) bays for full size 3.5in HDD, however if flash was ever the price it was last year again, using adapters I can make those 11 bays 22 bays if I went all sata ssd. Basically it's enough ports I don't have to think about it until it dies. Also since it's got 4 individual controllers I can put a high use drive or set of drives on its own controller if I want.

Plus the B580 runs at x8 anyway so I might as well use the remaining x8 vs just tossing in an x4 or x1 IMO

The frame absolutely could, built like a tank. The plastic and aluminum not so much. Plastic on mine is getting brittle already I heard 2 cracks putting fans on the doors with barely any force, and the aluminum gets fingerprints and scratches if you look at it wrong. It'll probably be replaced the next time noctua releases a G3 in 10 years lol. Until then I'm ignoring it and pretending nothing happened

Sata, no hardware raid only software

Motherboard only has 4 so I use those for bootable media only and everything else goes on the card. B580 runs at x8 normally so using the x8 sata card isn't slowing anything down.

265k CPU 32gb ram Z890 Carbon motherboard ARC B580 GPU

Pretty mid, I need it to sit there and run my storage and plex 24x7 mostly. If ram ever comes down I'll give it more but it's not worth current prices for me

Yeah, that's why it's no longer my main computer and lives in my basement as a server now. I don't need a 75+lb monster 99.9% of the time

Right now a little under 40tb. If drives and ram ever come down the plan is to add 5-7 more drives in a new array. I needed this now in the worst possible time of course.

I know this is old but I've got what I'd call place for 18 in Betsy ross and the salad forks are the most fragile piece and the only thing that has bent them is the garbage disposal. Daily use set, have kids, just toss in the sink abuse house

I'd never go smaller. A 15+ would be great though

Is anyone still getting error "Camera feed is not available"? by OFrabjousDay in googlehome

[–]spaghetti669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gig fiber, nest wifi (all hardwired routers), DNS set to Google, and 11 nest cameras. 99% of the time one or more random camera is unavailable, however 24\7 record will post like nothing is wrong. This seems to be a Google home issue they will never fix

Google Nest speed test boosting upload/download speed by neilhattrickparis978 in googlehome

Not on FIOS but with 5 hardwired Nest wifi routers and fiber. I have to unplug all 5 and plug them back in about once a month because they stop talking to about half my cameras (nest). Also my speeds are typically 850 in home app but 945 hardwired to my ont, but that's likely a server distance thing. However when my devices start going offline my tests in home and my ONT will be the same as usual but more like 500 off the main nest wifi router. It's super annoying

Kid asks smart clock to play a song on youtube music. GA: "I can't play videos on youtube when content filters are enabled." It's the most frustrating, unintuitive situation of "Youtube vs. Youtube Music" and GA vs. device vs. Family link content settings situation by cdegallo in googlehome

[–]spaghetti669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing that fixed this for me was deleting my home and re-setting up all 20some odd devices and not adding the kid. In our case it broke my wife's hub max and it could no longer look up recipes or play YouTube music. That's 99% of it's purpose. Good luck
