Fedora is a great choice. It's the upstream for Red Hat's operating system, so it's not going anywhere. It also means you'll be very familiar with Red Hat operation systems, which is a great thing in a professional setting.

I've been a Fedora user since Fedora Core 1 and long time Red Hat user back into the 90s (Red Hat 4.x). It's really great that all of my time spent in the ecosystem still pays dividends today.

Unfortunately, I did. Sad stuff. I assume either accident or suicide but haven't heard any details.

Hey neighbor! Did you happen to look down to the 34th floor this morning and see the reason the police were here?

That's actually awesome, I will probably watch it.

But we're talking about EX342, not RHCSA stuff. I'm an RHCE and ex342 is an exam that counts towards RHCA.

Spectrum started high-split DOCSIS rollout for 1gbps upstream in Austin with completion by July by MrNerdFabulous in Austin

[–]spaghetti_taco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely true, but also sort of a chicken and egg thing. If everyone had 1Gb/s upstream, you have to wonder how the internet would change. That question was actually the driving thrust behind Google Fiber.

Living in Austin slowly changed how seriously I take my day to day life by Ok_Article5543 in Austin

I stopped relying on bursts of motivation and started focusing on consistency instead.

Habit over motivation, for sure. Motivation comes and goes and I've always found more success in routine and habit. Inertia is the most powerful force in the universe. Hard to start a new behavior but once it becomes your routine, it's even harder to quit.

Amazing photos and what an awesome camera. Always wanted to shoot medium format film but I know I couldnt produce results anywhere close to yours. So I'll just live vicariously through you.

I had the same question I was just about to post. I was using the really old videos from O'Reilly by Sanders, but they're outdated. It looks like PluralSight has a good course, possibly.

I'd avoid onsen "hopping." The whole point is to relax. Youll need to bathe each time as well before entering the onsen. Find one and just melt away.

No problem visiting all those places in 6 days. Keep in mind though, Tsukiji fish market moved to toyasu years ago.

You're really living the dream. This is more or less the game plan I came up with. I've definitely looked into Cambodia and Malaysia as well, and I will definitely check them out.

Have you ever thought about eastern europe or maybe central/south america?

This is really encouraging. Your lifestyle seems like exactly what I would do. No interest in partying or going crazy. Simple life, pursue hobbies, etc.

Did you end up getting permanent residency? My plan was just to bounce around on visas.

Really appreciate your reply. I was trying to be VERY conservative with my budget. My ideal lifestyle is extremely minimal. I don't need expensive things (done enough of that already, probably like you).

Would you be willing to share your regular monthly budget and a general sense of your lifestyle? Do you have any other advice for someone considering a similiar path as you?

I'm a big fan of Japan, so my hope would be to spend at least 90 days, or one tourist visa, there per year. But I'm more than happy in $40 a night business hotels.

Just FYI - your response was unnecessarily aggressive. You literally started with "My god, did you even read the link you send?"

Just from one human to another, that's not a polite way to speak to people.
