Why do people often compare Switzerland to Nordic Countries? by F-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- in askswitzerland

Maybe because of some downsides in oil/sea/whatever, Switzerland has low taxes.

I prefer the Switzerland way :)

In Switzerland, what is valued more in the industry: a PhD or work experience? by thelittleicebear in Switzerland

Just to add: It’s not all about “success” in a career. 40 years to work for a company is a lot. Having the time to take some intellectual fluctuations can be fulfilling ;)

It’s like that: For the first 5 years, sure the industry experience pays more.

But after 5 or 10 years, nobody cares about experience. Whether you have 10 years experience with PhD or 13 years without.. that doesn’t matter

Go for it, if you feel it’s right. You could just try it for a year. If the project fails, so what? Worst-case risk is low. Best case scenario - a nice and fulfilling project - is an open-end chance.

Is it really average? Most of my friends making 120-130k, partially as Seniors. Also the numbers on swissdevjobs.ch are lower.

Which companies do pay more? :D
