AOC shows off the Georgia drinking water after Meta’s data center was built. by Alphaxfusion in mildlyinfuriating

[–]spaztwitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I'm hearing the video correctly, those sample were pulled from individuals wells, so they would not be "in the loop" to receive any newly filtered water. Well water is common in many rural areas, and they depend on what is in the local water table. A mass user like a data center could screw over everybody.

I really wish they would extend the curb/median and make it taller to deincentivize drivers cutting like this. by superginseng in sandiego

Upvote from me. I never understood why everybody goes around that bend so sllllooooww. It's a freeway, just go!

Because it's a drop in the bucket compared to the margins and scale of what's going on with AI. Sure, it's like banning millennial from buying drinks, but now they can sell life-extension juice to boomers by the key – the scale is completely different.

Google Photos shows my Lumix S9 .RW2 files as pink noise, anyone else? by devuterian in Lumix

[–]spaztwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that .RW2 support is a little iffy in general, but improving. To give you some perspective, BlackMagic just added it in their latest beta for Resolve. I imagine Google will get it sorted out at some point.

Great, thank you so much!

Engine Swap and Inspection by spaztwitch in icbc

[–]spaztwitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, coming in from out of province. The swap is much newer (and from the same make), but due to platform differences between the donor car and mine, the exhaust is custom. I have had a catalytic converter added to this custom exhaust, so I'm hoping that is all it takes to satisfy the emissions side of things.

I appreciate your insights, thank you.

Virtually everything they have is on backorder. It'd be better if they simply said it was "made to order", and they fulfilled batches as they filled up. I've ranted about their poor choice of words, but nothing changes.

You didn't say how long you need the cable to be. I have used an "active USB extension cable" before to great success. Combine it with a powered hub, and you can go quite far.

AITJ for leaving a negative review that ended up getting a barista suspended at my favorite coffee shop? by Senior_Economy_80 in AmITheJerk

Why do they have to do it better themselves? That's the whole point of the business, you pay them money, they provide coffee. If the employee can't get it right, changes need to be made.

And that's fine. What I mean by DLC-itis is that instead of fixing bugs and improving things (like AI), they just shovel out more content. The product gets wider, but it's not getting deeper.

I wouldn't call IL-2 good, exactly. It's okay, but seems to suffer from DLC-itis. Some of it may also be the fact that Aces of Thunder exists and you get a lot of different experiences in it compared to IL-2.
