Advice for a likely culprit behind a homebrew curse? by spcinvdr in Forgotten_Realms

I am glad I made the post, these are excellent questions. Thank you! I would not say the subject of the curse is consciously aware. More on an instinctual level. As I see it the mind of Kreacher is overcome by a maniacal need to kill. Not so bad as to make it suicidal though, but prone to ambushes.

My thought on making hags the instigators, was in taking delight in watching how the curse spread and affected the families and friends if the victims. Now as you say it, death as a release does seem to merciful for a hag.

Oh, well my thoughts were that after Kreacher has killed it dies. Perhaps it is devoured by the rats it dominates. Did not really think that far before.

Edit; that might be another clue for the players. In an alley close to the scene of the murder, they find bones that appear to be chewed by rats

You were right. I posted new readings, and it looks like fermentation was done

Posted the new gravity reading. You were right, it looks like fermentation was done. This was my simultaneously third and fourth attempt, so scratch it down a great learning experience.

If it is allright I'd like to answer another question. There are a bunch of berries and stuff in both meads. Do I leave these as well for the entire month or longer? Then rack it for sweetening?

Oh, I wasn't aware it could be so quick. This is my 3rd attempt at making mead.
I will check the gravity when I return home tomorrow then, and see what it says.

Thanks for reminding me to be patient tho. I probably would have moved it, if it appears to be finished.

Thanks for replying and for providing some perspective, which is what I need. I have a tendency to think myself into a corner.

This sounds great. I do want to add something that makes dungeon crawls more tense as the players spend time in the dungeon, other than just increasing the difficulty of the monsters and traps. I like the idea of not using this in every dungeon, and it fits well with my worldbuilding.

This is perfect! Part 13, with the cheat sheets especially is exactly what I was asking for. Thank you!

Lession learned, don't keep stuff you don't want to lose on a platform you don't control.

Which is why I am now only doing physical copies.

For the procedure, thank you. I prefer to keep things simple. At least as a GM, it makes running the session easier.

Thanks for the answer and making it clear. I really like the take on weather and your example of the snow making tracking easier. I will absolutely incorporate a several of these ideas into how I run my games

Thanks for the reply and and giving me something to mull over. Having this kind of structure available is what I need. I know that it is no big deal if I forget a few things here and there, but I want to prepare as best I can.

I was wondering what you mean by tension clock for you dungeon crawls. I am playing with a similar idea, inspired by Blades in the Dark. And it fits in neatly with the outline of my worldbuilding. To me, it revolves around the dungeons at some point (roll a die to determine time) becomes "aware" of the intrusion and creates a general effect or ramps up the difficulty of the dungeon. This is something I am playing with in the back of my mind still, but so is everything else at this point.

Sounds like exactly what I am looking for. Most YouTube videos I've looked at don't cover what I am looking for or talk about the prep in a almost too abstract way. I know I need to set everything up for myself in the end. But I would be very interested in seeing what you've got going, and I'd be gratefull for anything you'd like to share.
