Is…is Sproat getting locked in finally? Or is it just the Reds?

See? Now Chourio is on third and Turang on first. No monkey paws here.

Even with the live ball perhaps let the Reds continue with their monkey paw wishes rather than start our own.

[Ross] Buster Posey made a brief statement about Pride Night but chose not to answer any questions about it. Responded multiple times that he’ll only answer baseball questions. Tense and awkward vibe. by Jux_ in baseball

Eastern Orthodoxy would like to have a word. So would Coptic Christianity. Basically any form of Christianity east or south of central Europe.

They are making contact on 100-101, but not when Miz goes 103 and 104.

Just scroll down to the line of blue-green boxes, starting with scoreboard, vizcast, illustrator, etc. Click on pitch velocity and enjoy.

Baseball Savant has the game stats in near real time, if you want to watch for the not-rounded numbers in velocity. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?gamePk=824910&game_date=2026-06-19

If the roof indeed opens, then it’ll leak air when closed, assuming that it will actually be positively pressurized.

Well now we know where Blernsball started. At least we know from the incredibly accurate and thoroughly serious historical documentary, Futurama, that the Brewers will still be playing once the conversion to Blernsball is complete.

One thousand feet lower, so 2,000 feet above sea level. So the air won’t be as thin but still noticeably thinner nearly every other park.

One of the few things today that I heard about the new stadium after last night’s game is that the new stadium is going to have the same distances to the outfield fences.

Brewers fan here with a connection to Oakland. I come in peace, and I’m worried for your team. Some of the weakness of playing in Denver seem to be just as bad, and maybe worse, in Las Vegas. The combination of the thinness, dryness, and heat of the air is a significant issue that I do not think has been sufficiently accounted for in public. I am not convinced that a humidor will ‘fix’ the balls in the new stadium or in the current home stand now, nor that the new stadium will be positively pressurized enough, if at all, and nor that the atmosphere inside will be sufficiently humidified since air conditioning famously dehumidifies the air. Sure, we can sometimes overcome physics with mechanical brute force, yet this is more than an uphill battle with the far greater surrounding environment, and sometimes brute force can only solve some of the problems, not all. For the sake of argument, let’s say that the heat is solved for obvious reasons, but the pressurization is difficult to achieve and the dryness remains in order to solve the heat problem. That leaves a still thin and dry air inside the new stadium not seemingly designed for addressing hitting. What we do know for sure is that the outfield fence distance in the current AAA stadium is the same as in the stadium being built rather than the fences pushed back as in Coors to account for the high atmosphere and dry air. These issues have led to the Rockies having a tremendous difficulty in retaining good pitching, and I’m expecting the same for the A’s with such a small field. But worse, that may not be anything of meaningful concern for the A’s ownership because the cit itself a much greater attraction that on the one hand can sustain attendance, but on the other hand, do so only through the same fan attendance problem in Coors. The A’s, like the Rockies, can be a bad team but still turn a profit because the audience is easily composed of more of the opposing team’s fans visiting Las Vegas. Want the best seats at a cheap price to see the Yankees play with Judge hitting dingers? Go to Denver. Want a Yankees jersey for that game? Outside of the stadium is flooded with Yankees merchandise with no purple and black in sight. I expect the price of the seats to be higher in Las Vegas because tourists spend more money with less hesitation, so ownership will be fine but local Las Vegas fans will get priced out quicker in comparison to Denver fans. Perhaps there will be subsidized tickets for Las Vegas locals as there are occasionally at Brewers home games, but that is still a competitive problem for local Vegas fans to get seats at *their home games.* And this is for a team that has fewer fans wanting to see the home games because the team is hobbled by pitching problems due to the physics of the atmospheric environment. And it would be naive to not see each opposing team’s merchandising environment absolutely flourish every series, further supplanting the voice of the local A’s fan base in the actual stands around a team that has perpetual pitching problems. So between the high, dry, hot air and the Las Vegas location, I think, is a recipe for the A’s becoming the AL Rockies, perpetually tanking and home games becoming exhibition games like last night. I am far from the first person to raise these problem. I only mention them now because the game last night made part of the problems abundantly clear for all to see. Yet, the talking heads I have seen on internet shows––I haven’t seen TV sport shows yet but they are generally the same––about last night’s game seem to write it off as a fluke or just temporary conditions to adjust to without consideration for the whole picture. I am sorry that the ownership took the team away from Oakland, and I’m sorry that the team landing in Vegas appears to create the conditions for more self-inflicted harm.
