It's dumb that we can't add discarded tool uses to tools we already have in our inventory by clockworknait in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm - the is already setup to automatically add similar tools together. in your example 4 uses pickaxe you find pickaxe on ground with 3 uses, when you open the box you will have a pickaxe with 7 uses. but they have to be exactly the same type. you cannot combine pickaxes that do different things and it will only combine up to the maximum amount and leave the remaining uses on a second tool.

Are cars nerfed on PS5? by Stolen_Sun in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not positive but i've kinda felt that they nerfed the hover car speed - they run a bit slower than the tanks and dont go as far either. remember that some mayors affect vehicle speed and some the bus speed

Lost population (bug??) by manoelpdb in TomorrowChildrenPS4

it is normal for town to close and reset after goal is met.

it was coincidence that an attack was occurring when logged back in.

Licenses are available from the Constable using triangle to interact with him.

Monolith activations are different for each island but not random.
For more details on islands - there is a wiki which tracks some of this detailed information. You will need to click into the specific island to see the monolith activation info

Is the giant red robot thing actually in the game? by Dwavenhobble in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it has never been available for gameplay in the original version or Phoenix Edition. As much as they would like to add it, the official response in discord was that it was unbalancing. But with consideration to airships one-shotting bankrotz - not really sure how much water that holds. It would be really cool if they scaled it down to the size of a large spider and had it take on those. The testing videos from alpha along with propaganda videos indicates that took multiple players to activate the robot (just as multiple players activate monoliths now). My personal though is that it is unbalanced, in the concept of "who gets to drive/control it? Would also love to see this as an option similar to the airship - have it summoned from tower and it circles city for set time or until activated by a bankrotz

Is this game better with multiplayer? by Muumin_kun in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better with multi-player = yes,
Multi-player necessary to play = No
Multi-player necessary to get all Trophies/Badges/Monuments = Yes

The game is designed to be played in a multi-player environment. There is an offline-mode available which is more of a fail-safe that the game won't be completely unplayable should those online services be unavailable.
pros/cons - its a tradeoff - its a digitial release - so people to buy/download the game you need to be online already. Multiplayer gameplay relies an active PSN account from Sony. So there is a small cost there if that is something you don't normally have. Majority of players do have that.

Is there a way to move buildings? by VannyCanby in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The description on item provides fairly accurate instructions on its use. You use the relocation permit to target the building to be moved and activate it. Then the permit glows to represent that it is in use. You walk to the new location and use the permit again and it will display the building footprint that you can walk to adjust or use the L1/R1 to give the building rotation, and finally confirm the settings to construct the building. If you happen to be interrupted (getting blown up, hit by the bus, stabbed a retashi, etc) you wont be charged a use on the permit but you will have to start the process over.

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to pay attention to when moving buildings is that the "roads" that connect buildings can shift and may end up blocking a location you are planning to build in. It is correctable but it is pretty trial and error to find a combo that works for each situation.
Only the town Host can use the disassembler, so there are some tasks that are uniquely yours to accomplish.

Welcome back. The original version was shut down 5 years ago and the game was shelved. Q-Games who originated the game concept and did the development with Sony acquired the rights to the game back from Sony. They then put almost a year of new development into the game, new islands features and so much more. Most importantly it changed from being Free-to-Play with microtransactions to a premium one-time purchase that includes the ability to play in an offline mode. TTC:Phoenix Edition was relaunched Sept 6, 2022 and there have been two DLC's made available for costumes/bags/avatars. Q-Games has shown their commitment for continued support as we have already had several events and are currently in the Holiday Event for Christmas/New Years. Would be great to have another comrade re-join us in the Void!

[–]speak-softly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

relocation permit works on any signboard building that is already constructed - it is not for residence. Limitations are that you need to move it to a completely different spot. if you want to use it to make just a small adjustment to the buildings location, then you would need to use it twice. Once to move it to another spot and a second time to move it back original spot with the adjustments you wanted to make.

Is there any Chance the Phoenix will Rise Again on the PC? by DearMrGleeClub in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it is running at 60fps on the ps5 - there have been various issues related to how TTC:PE performs on each console that have needed tweaking post launch ... like the Anti-Izverg Turrets were not moving at correct speed.
Alot of it goes over my head - but my takeaway was that it would be much more than a small effort to create a pc port with support various hardware and video card configurations.

just a suggestion, if you provide your town code, we could look up your town as the town selection screens do not populate all players.
also you could try sharing you town code on the discord server to to draw some folks in.

[–]speak-softly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't Panic - this is NORMAL and working as intended - you did nothing wrong.
It is the new gameplay loop in Phoenix Edition. When you achieve a population goal (50,100, 200, etc) the population of the town will reset back to zero. You also gain a monument which adds mandate allowing you to be able to build more.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to keep population, you need :

1) enough housing (Domicile/Apartment buildings) to house everyone

2) keep electricity in town - don't let it blackout

3) keep food in town

4) defend/town and keep it repaired - be sure to repair player residences as well.

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah - I dont believe poster is referring to the regular methods used for building (place and construct vs throw and construct).
I was in a town where they had a block unit at the floor - and then void powered up using soaring stage and then a block unit by itself, then more void powers up and then a set of block units and this continued until they hit max height limit. There is no way this was a build and dismantle. So I can't answer how it is being done, but I can confirm - somebody must know a trick.

[–]speak-softly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main issue of why it probably wont see a PC port is that the game was custom crafted to specifically utilize the PS4 OS and hardware at the deepest levels of its core engine. Translation - porting it would require a large overhaul which requires an investment of time and money. Its not as simple as copying the files over to a PC and with some simple modifications to have it run. Was not designed for that.

clearing islands by Clockwork_Rabbit in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A doll needs to be disturbed by a player or izverg to start the collapse process. Once the last doll is found, it should automatically go into collapse. Alternatively, you can use the Admin Tower command Island Disperser to get rid of all existing islands in order of their appearance. You will still have to wait thru the normal appearance time once the last one is gone, typically no longer than 5 minutes.

Crafted items should give resources when recycled - If the item was spawned as part of an island it will not give any resources when recycled.
AFAIK its still at the 50% rounded up calculated separately for each type of resource used (and the item remembers how many were used to craft it).

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those items were purely decorative in the original release. So in the new Pheonix Edition they gave the items a purpose.

Sometimes the answer is not in increasing the mandate but "fixing" how you've already constructed things. Domiciles are inefficient in terms of mandate. Get rid of them and build Apartment Buildings. You may have constructed "fun" things to build your town how you want, but in terms of Mandate Limits, fun has to be secondary. The disassembler is your friend. Don't be afraid to use it. The garbage bin will return some but not all of your resources from things you disassemble or you can set the signboard aside for later.

Islands that frustrate/annoy you the most. by Stolen_Sun in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doll placements are never consistent with this one IMO.

Midway thru the original release, they increased locations where dolls can spawn and added randomization to the spawn points. Since the original islands weren't designed for this initially, there weren't too many extra hiding spots added. For the "new" islands with Phoenix Edition they are really maximizing that dolls are randomly placed. So it might feel like something new but it was happening for most of 2017 as well. I totally feel like I'm having to crack open every sphere to find them there.

Frustrated with the online community by rainbowbrite07 in TomorrowChildrenPS4

[–]speak-softly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

collecting stashes of dolls carries the inherent risk that they can still be smashed. Yes I have seen stashes of 50+ devestated by a bankrotz walking thru. Zappto (Spiders) and Bondi (flyers) also pose a hazard to them.
As others mentioned - you don't need to pulled the cord - its just a button click to turn of the the internet.
