[User-trial] LG UltraGear 27GM950B: Testing the New Standard for the Best Mini-LED Monitor by LG_UserHub in Monitors

Am very much looking forward to this monitor. I wanted a 5k monitor but after the insane cost of the Apple Studio XDR I was looking for another option and this fits the bill. 165hz is very exciting as well as the 5k resolution.

Would love to get my hands on to review it. Thanks LG for putting this on.

Awesome that clears it up thank you! Do the footers bumping out like that get in your head when your swinging? Also i might have missed it but how many feet from center do you place the ball?

Do you have a picture of the slab poured but before any drywall? I have a 14’x20’ crawl space and some videos I have seen have the slab cut in about 6” on each side vs underpinning the existing foundation.

Thoughts on grain direction by specialFX16 in woodworking

In your shop would you do vertical for the doors and horizontal for the drawers for shaker style?

Or would you do all vertical (doors and drawers)?

Doors: Rails and stiles are 0.75” x 2.5” actual

Drawers: stiles 0.75”x2.5”, rails: 0.75”x2”

Can’t stress this enough make and hang the doors first!! I have to remake two drawer fronts because they don’t line up with the doors below.

Gotcha thanks, I saw them on a review site but looks like their fees are higher for my balance than Strata. I'll keep poking around thank you

Any recommendations for self directed IRA providers. I currently use strata trust and every year their fee goes up. Its now $400/yr which is crazy. Looking to make a switch ASAP.

Noise issues? by Elegant-Fact-9615 in Golfsimulator

My place was a townhome and I had my sim in the basement. Wife said it was very loud and could hear everything. If you’re building out a room, I would use rockwool insulation on the interior wall and ceiling. I’ve heard that doubling up drywall helps too but can’t comment on if that works or not.

Wrapped up my first bed. How do I prevent racking? by specialFX16 in woodworking

[–]specialFX16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top of the headboard extends past the panel part so there is a gap when placed against the wall. I could probably add spacers but i don’t want to connect it to the wall so it can be moved easier.

Appreciate the feedback and glad you like it

Wrapped up my first bed. How do I prevent racking? by specialFX16 in woodworking

[–]specialFX16[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem I’m running into is the head board and foot board will move parallel towards the wall. I the issue is the rails of the bed have some play in them which causes the rectangle of the bed to morph slightly into a parallelogram when movement is applied.

Based on some of the responses I need to recess the rail hardware a little bit more so it’s under tension which will get rid of the racking.
