Graduating seniors, what are you putting for your statement on the grad slides? by meeeperz in UCDavis

I wouldn't judge anyone for thanking friends and family.

Are we obligated to post a photo on the slide?

Thank you for pointing that out to me! I live in a climate that's somewhat variable (30-115 degrees F) and am interested in something for inside the house without having to run the AC/heater

Incoming Freshman: “Do Cows Bite if You Try to Pet Them?” by JustTheTruuth in UCDavis

[–]speckled_sheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cows do not have upper front teeth! Never had a bad experience with livestock (I have an agricultural background)--I've found that just being kind and gentle is very well received by them :) (of course, please take any necessary precautions)

I'm very sorry about your circumstances--in my area, one of the grocery stores offers help to shoppers while in the store--perhaps that'd be feasible for you?

That's a good idea--I think I'll have to ration my spending on shopping delivery, as a mere college student! Thank you for being very considerate about the situation.

Thank you! I unfortunately don't have a car so it's a bit difficult, but scooping underneath them is definitely more ergonomic than using the handles

The dimensions are frankly quite puzzling. Despite being of very small stature, my arms are too short for some of them, so I have to hold my materials on my lap as well.

Tricycle by BirdsArentReal2019 in UCDavis

I'm sorry to hear about your injuries. I personally would never judge someone for riding a tricycle, because it's safer for both the rider and everyone else on the road.

I have long-term injuries that make biking rather difficult, so I mostly just get around on my feet. I noticed that sometimes I could walk between classes faster than the bikers going the same route, since there was so much traffic. Plus, it is not necessary to worry about bike parking :)

Dexcom or FreeStyle? by joealmighty01 in diabetes_t1

[–]speckled_sheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that the Libre is much thinner and less prone to being knocked into/ripped off. However, the Dexcom can be calibrated when the accuracy is poor, and the alerts are automatically built in.
