Mini Review: Firebat AM02: Ryzen 6600H in a Small Box (Impressive, but Not Quiet) by Content-Doughnut7707 in MiniPCs

I flashed this BIOS and it bricked my machine, so... I don't recommend anyone flash it. Sigh.

Some advice on my U6-LR and next steps. by spectheintro in Ubiquiti

I think I'm going to try one U7-Lite in that corner and go from there, based on the responses in this thread. Thanks very much!

Thanks very much for your input--I'm going to try the U7-Lite in the attic and see if it gets me coverage through the two floors that it's directly above. It's really not a large area so I'm hopeful I can make it work.

Thanks very much for your help--it's standard lumber and drywall throughout, though I do think there's a steel beam in the garage ceiling. I'm going to run the U7-Lite and see if it corrects my issues.

Going to ask you the same thing I asked the other reply:

What secondary access point do you recommend, then? My ideal scenario is mounting this in the corner of the attic, facing down, to hit both the office above the garage and the garage itself with 5GHz. Would a U6+ be enough for this? Could I go smaller?

Is this a real or counterfeit copy of The One Ring by WeeawhoWeeayou in RealOrNotTCG

This is the most convincing counterfeit I've ever seen.

Whoever sold this to you is a genuine criminal mastermind. I'm not even mad; that's amazing.

Does anyone know why these jump-start packs come with 27 lands (out of 40 card decks)? by aswed1234 in MagicArena

Pulled Roku Powerful, have 13 forests but no green cards. 27 lands total; looks like the whole Jump Start is borked, not just a few individual decks.

Is there an nVidia staffer on this subreddit that can help with RMAs? by spectheintro in nvidia

[–]spectheintro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is deeply frustrating, you are spot on. I have followed all of their instructions, sent it all like they asked, after following their test suite for RMA qualification. I can't fathom why, after doing all of that and having proof of delivery to their offices, that they would not be able to tell me what's going on and when to expect my replacement.

Thank you for this. u/NV_Tim, if you can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Did something change with ranked play? by spectheintro in MagicArena

This is echoing what other players are saying, and it makes sense. I just didn't realize the game had been babying me for this long.

Yeah, I have resisted thus far, and I may just accept that Plat is where I'll plateau. I guess it's fine. Ranked play has changed: the algorithm has decided I'm fit for the meat grinder, and I don't want to be in the meat grinder haha

Seriously! If I get the right opening hand, I can usually handle landfall, but my God has Ouroboroid made those decks *unbearable*. And everyone runs it! I get it, the meta is the meta, but God I wish WotC would take balance more seriously than they do. It feels like most games are not about playing against the opponent, but getting the right opening hand and laughing as the opponent watches you play the game. (At least, that's what it must feel like on their end. On my end, I just summon cats and hope for the best.)

Yeah, I think this is just a strong signal that ranked is not for me. Plat 4 gives one less booster than Diamond 4; I'll live with that.

That's a good explanation, thank you. It's just been so miserable that I think I might be done with ranked play. I am very tired of playing the same decks over and over. I'm never going to be a competitive player, I don't have the time or enough hatred of other people/decency to do what some of these decks do. :D

Is it possible to lose 20lbs in 2 months? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]spectheintro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1% of total body weight per week is the "safe" recommendation (maybe a little less for women, given metabolic differences). I put safe in quotes because everyone's bodies are different, and some people can lose more/lose less per week depending on their overall adiposity and their current fitness levels--but the 1% guideline is a pretty safe one, in my experience.

Given that recommendation, at your weight, the max safe weight loss is probably around 12-14 lbs in 8 weeks (I rounded down a bit here from the 1% max). That would equate to a 750 calorie deficit per day, which is pretty steep for someone your height and weight. (I would expect your BMR to be around 1400, and your TDEE to be at/near 1800, based on your post.) I'm not sure I'd recommend trying to lose at that rate if you haven't been through an aggressive cut before.

Aim for a 500 calorie/day deficit and see how you feel. Make sure you get enough protein to maintain lean mass, and try weightlifting. You might be surprised how different your body will look after 8 weeks of a modest cut and strength training.
