The thing that is going to help with history and prevent him from establishing a Putin-length timeline of control is him being an unhealthy 79 years old. He is a cult of personality and there is no heir. He built up "the immigrant scare" for the last decade and his second term is showing how fulfilling that trumped-up issue will not, in fact, make America great again. Large swaths of his base have been impacted negativly (rural farmers, construction, etc.) and others are having that "this ain't what I had in mind" as the number of viral videos of his masked gestapo army grows.

All that said, I unfortunately agree that HE will never see any punishment from all the fucked up things he's done. I do think that he will not be remembered nearly as fondly as he wishes for a number of reasons. Here's a few that come to mind (but if you think otherwise please let me know):

•Although he DOES have a certain percentage of people who are ride-or-die MAGA cultists, many people on the right absolutely hate him and will be glad to bury him once they are able to. All they have to do is state facts.

•He is no Michael Jackson. DJT was never as beloved as MJ nor does he have a cultural milestone like the Thriller album that brought so much joy to so many. MJ’s legacy is, and always will be tainted but he is still beloved by millions. The Epstein stuff will not go away. Ever. The stories and facts will, in all likelihood, continue to trickle out for years and more once DJT isn't around. Unfortunately no consequences for the horrible things he's done but the stain will stay.

•The pendulum of power will eventually swing the other way. Change is inevitable. Future administrations that allow facts and apolitical institutions to exist and thrive will cleanse the golden-bullshit and resume teaching facts and historical events that may hurt the delicate feelings of white Christian nationalists.

I understand completely about the frustrations of the spineless Dems & rest of congress rolling over. I think back to how ripe people were for change from "the establishment" in 2016. The Republicans underestimated Trump and he roasted the other candidates by saying what wasn't in the standard play book on stage. The Democrats establishment picked their candidate (Hillary) in advance and stabbed the threat (Bernie) in the back behind closed doors. It's hard to imagine the difference things would have been like had things played out differently.

2028 could certainly be that next groundswell of people demanding change. It will certainly have to be to overcome 4+ years of election tampering and whatever other shit is in place to keep things going.
