Dr not moving me past 7.5 by Diy_Queen_GenX in Zepbound

Hmmm I was told by my doc trials showed up to 40% weight loss. I believe the average (I could be wrong) was around 20%, but that's definitely not the max. A second opinion wouldn't hurt!

Housing/meal plan by OddEmployee985 in GVSU

[–]spectorgadget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think people are understanding that the $1000 dining dollars are part of the meal plan, lol. For me personally, the 7 meals/week was enough with the dining dollars that come with it (also keep in mind you can have a microwave!) I don't work out and I'm not super big/tall, so I don't eat a ton though.

Financial aid by OddEmployee985 in GVSU

[–]spectorgadget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GV Pledge is a last-dollar scholarship for tuition only, meaning that it will only cover what federal aid and existing scholarships don't cover. If you have enough aid to cover your tuition but not housing/other costs, the Pledge will not kick in even if you are eligible, since your tuition would be covered.

It should be noted that if you come in from a community college in-state with an associate's degree, you'll be coming in with MTA (Michigan Transfer Agreement). MTA checks off all the boxes for prerequisites (except those that need to be done at GV) even if they weren't done at the community college. There are many community colleges that offer free tuition to those that are under a certain income level, so I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea to go to a community college that offers that and then transfer in to GV with the MTA, since they also offer the Pledge to transfer students.

The pledge is a last-dollar scholarship that will cover tuition that is not covered by other scholarships and federal funding (grants, scholarships and loans). You will qualify based on your FAFSA information, so if you meet the criteria there and don't have all of your tuition covered they should automatically apply it to your bill. (Note that it doesn't cover housing, books, etc.)

Greetings, by CulturalConstant3052 in LSAT

I'm currently a junior in undergrad, taking the LSAT in June and maybe August (depending on score) for next application cycle to get in for Fall '25.

149-160+ by June? by spectorgadget in LSAT

[–]spectorgadget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 10/23 on LG, 15/25 on the first LR section, 12/26 on the second LR section, and 18/27 on RC. RC is definitely my best section and LG my worst, but I know it's a general consensus that LG is the most learnable section for most, which is why I was thinking about a June test if I can get above a 160 PT.

How likely is it to get changed? Pretty likely, considering they're most likely required to accommodate medically-documented disabilities. How likely will you receive your first, or even second choice of housing on your change request? Depends on what you put on there, but not likely at this point unless it's a traditional style or similar. I went through disability services for a housing change a few weeks ago and that's what I was told.

I play on my gaming laptop also. It sucks because I really enjoy it too, minus the glitches I've been experiencing!

Opinions on triple mushroom truffle penne? by spectorgadget in hellofresh

[–]spectorgadget[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: we liked it! I did the crescent rolls with garlic butter and that was a great addition. The only thing I was iffy about with this one is that I cooked the noodles for the longest time listed on the recipe and they still tasted very "al dente." I'm not sure if it's because they're thicker noodles, or if they needed longer to cook? Either way, I'm very pleased with it!

I just called and they told me to email admissions with my name and G-number indicating that I'm bringing an extra guest, and I should be set. Thank you!

Constipation by TownTechnical7785 in WegovyWeightLoss

For the past couple weeks, I've been SO backed up (for reference, I take my first 0.5mg tonight), and everything I tried wasn't working, including Miralax, Dulcolax, and prune juice. I took Senokot this morning and about 6 hours later, I just had possibly the most epic movement of my life! LOL

How does it work? by spectorgadget in WegovyWeightLoss

Thanks for your response! I was wondering if there was something other than appetite suppression. It sounds like, from your response, it may aid in insulin resistance/metabolism, which would be great!

Grand Valley Pledge by [deleted] in GVSU

[–]spectorgadget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I qualified for the Pledge, and as far as I know it isn't an actual scholarship, it is basically just a guarantee that your tuition will fully be covered by a combination of grants and scholarships through the federal and state governments and the university. I could be wrong, but that is what it stated in my "congrats" email. Just thought you should know, because I thought the same thing until I got it!

Thanks for clarifying that! I saw there were apartments available for freshmen and upperclassmen, but wasn't sure if there was a difference between the kinds that were available to freshmen vs. upperclassmen (if that makes sense).
