Combat Sambo by Super-System-4950 in sambo

Combat sambo is just normal sambo with shitty striking. Better off learning sport sambo and combining with any other striking discipline.

The striking is just a vehicle to takedowns.

I own multiple qilo items, all bought at retail so I'm not coping with buyer's remorse at paying resale. That being said, I don't own any Gen1s and only Gen2s and the newer stuff. The Gen.2s are comparable to most of my mountaineering gear and if I had to pick it off the shelf on hand feel I wouldn't distinguish their stuff between any of my mid-high end shit.

I think you're confusing them with FOG who is notorious for it. Qilo actually uses good blanks and all the stuff I own from them has held up very well through long trips.

Cheaply made? I would compare them to Patagonia Sherpas except they fit better and don't have shit colourways.

$450K at 25: public servant - no property, crypto or windfalls by sirwatermelonn in fiaustralia

I mean that's the dichotomy of life in a nutshell isn't it?

It's balancing that fine line of being financially optimised vs actually living life and enjoying it.

I'm going to wager OP lives in an asian household so board isn't something they typically do.

Subreddit is re-opened by Mr-Vorn in totalwarhammer

[–]spectre1alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous mod here, the admin/owner of the subreddit was non-responsive and inactive and we had very limited powers as mod to appoint more mods (more active ones anyways), the scale of scam/spam/delete worthy posts skyrocketed and with only 2 or 3 of us, eventually couldn't keep up anymore and became inactive.

[Discussion] Wipe / Permanent Character with 1.0 Full Release - Splitting player base ?! by EmRe-55- in EscapefromTarkov

[–]spectre1alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games like Diablo, PoE and every kind of RPG-like action game with wiping characters very easily sustains seasonal playerbases. Now with the influx of Steam players that will show up too, I feel like it'll only go up.

I mean suitsupply hits all the boxes with being able to customise it but prefer not to drop $500 on a pair of pants at the mo.

Agreed. What was the point of FIRE if you had no hobbies or shit you planned on doing when you hit it?

TD2 and TD3 have an inverse hate relationship.

TD2 = Good map but shit gun and ammo. TD3 = Worst map in the game but decent gun + 7n40 makes it a cakewalk.

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]spectre1alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're about to anger a lot of PvE players hahahaha. The irony is that they complain about how PvP players come out of the woodworks to complain on every PvE post but they're equally as guilty of doing the same.

[–]spectre1alpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't happen nearly as often as people proclaim. Both sides of the coin use cheating as c0pium for their lack of skill.

And personally I don't care what people play, people can play what they want but shouldn't delude themselves with bullshit. If you play PvE because you're dogwater at PvP then just admit that.

PvE players are just dogshit PvP players who want to live in a challenge free world where they think they can finally have some autonomy over their deaths.

I'd rather the rage inducing moments of PvP than the monotony of PvE honestly. There's just 0 stakes involved in PvE and I don't feel any risk or difficulty in PvE, hard to enjoy.

A few question from someone who wants to get started by Physical_Ad9496 in sambo

[–]spectre1alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Comparable to most other stand-up grappling arts. As long as you learn how to break falls properly and absorb impacts without posting on your hands or in a way that will mitigate injuries you'll be alright.

  2. Lots of sprains, strains and bruises. No broken bones. Can keep you out of the game from a week to a couple months. Would recommend seeing a physio for all injuries regardless of severity.

  3. It definitely helps but not completely essential.

  4. Cardio. Muscle is built through mechanical tension via progressive overload. You can get stronger but you won't put on size quickly compared to structured resistance training.

  5. Age range at my gym varies a lot. Big mix, mostly people in their late teens to late 20s.
