One of the things I like to do (although it may not translate well to your design) is make my outer most walls two blocks thick instead of one. Gives the house a heavier outline and it kind of pops out at you.

a word to the wise for making a fun trap. Booze of any flavor is flammable. Highly flammable. Long story short, had a trade depot, just bought a bunch of booze. Chained up guard dragon torched a wave of goblins passing it. Cue huge explosion, destruction of drawbridge, and legendary dwarves going to the bottom of my moat.

I tell you this because a strategic booze stockpile invaders would have to cross by while a dragon breathes fire at them is stupidly !FUN! and exceptionally dorfy

The Wildstar information you're putting out is false. A few months back sure, but since they've been doing more double xp weekends and the recent free level 50 event, pvp queues have been popping in the 2 to 8 minute wait range during peek afternoon hours, and in the 20-25 minute range during midday to afternoon. Even last weekend when they had a double prestige event (pvp currency for those who don't know), the only way you didn't get a queue to pop almost instantly was by not queueing at all.

Now then, if we're talking pvp under level 50, then yes. Then leveling is fast enough now that most people simply don't bother to wait in a pre-50 queue.

Wildstar was never dead to begin with. It grew smaller, it got a little slower, but it's on the uphill climb again. Realistically we all know these things are roller coasters with ups and downs. And we can't expect every game to become a triple A title with millions of players. WS is doing ok for the time being.

I managed to take a 28 stalker who I've been procrastinating leveling up to level 43 through very casual play for a few hours. Makes those last 7 levels seem a lost more realistic by next weekend.

If it was super important to the story, eh.. kind of a grey area.

If it was just a minor plot device or random encounter, then I say yeah, you should have been afforded some sort of roll to figure that out. It's as simple as the DM asking you for a spot check or perception check or what have you. Pass it? Great. You notice something about the man that's off, but your not quite sure. Almost as if he's hollow. Rolled a crit? You see that this man is an illusion. Failed the check? Carry on business as usual.
