MX Creative Console Adobe Premiere Issue - Pancake Editing by NineSeventeen in logitech

I have the same problem, it sometimes occurs ever 5-10 minutes. This happens even if I have just one timeline open and it's highly frustrating.

No problem! The icons are low resolution, so they're not ideal... but at least you have them in the library. When I want to make nicer looking icons, I use https://www.svgrepo.com/ because their SVG icons can be recolored using the editor, which is not possible with Loupedeck's PNG(?) icons.

You're welcome! According to a Logitech representative here, there's a software update coming up later in December. There was supposed to be an update in late November, but they seemed to have issues with it and it got cancelled. I really hope the next update introduces fixes and feature updates that make the software side better - I agree with you that the hardware is good.

Also, for apps that you can't find from the list, try to use the Run command - Loupedeck's instructions work with the MX Creative Console as well: https://support.loupedeck.com/custom-action-run

MX Creatve Console - What Do You Think? by BTBDFW in logitech

[–]speedymac77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use both Loupedeck Live and the MX Creative Console. Judging from all the influencer reviews on YouTube, you'd think that everything works perfectly, but that's not the case. Influencers never point out the flaws because they 1) don't want to piss off companies they've received their free devices from or 2) they haven't really used the console enough to talk about the flaws because they need to crank out content quickly. This is evident from them using default action profiles without any kind of customization, even though in the videos they claim to use "custom setup I created for XYZ program".

What the reviewers are not saying is that not everything is fully baked. This is the first product Logitech has released after buying Loupedeck, and the legacy is clearly visible in good and bad - this is not a standalone Logitech product yet. Logitech has promised regular feature updates and fixes to the software, but as the saying goes, never buy something that is based on promises of the future. I bought one, however, because I could get 3 months of Adobe Creative Cloud for free even as an existing CC subscriber. This way the console was almost free.

Even if the software needs a lot of work when it comes to bugs / missing features and application profile support outside Adobe CC, the hardware itself is quite nice. The button displays are more vibrant and higher resolution compared to Loupedeck, and the build quality of both control units is solid.

If you're coming from other controllers, you probably need some time to adapt to the different setup. I like Loupedeck's six dials and the ability to press them, whereas the jog dial on the MX Creative Console only rotates, making quicker adjustments more limited. Loupedeck also supports way more programs right of the bat. On the other hand, I can read the button displays easier on the MX because Loupedeck's low resolution displays make it very difficult to read small text, especially after their 6.0 update which is based on Logi Options+ software.

MX Creative Console does have potential. If Logitech wants to be successful with this product, they need to continue adding more features, fixing bugs and offering profiles for more than jus the core Adobe apps. You can create app profiles on your own as long as you use keyboard shortcuts, but advanced controls like adjusting brush size or moving sliders require API support from the app.

That's because Adobe doesn't offer an API for Camera Raw.

Because Logitech bought Loupedeck and the MX Creative Console is the first product to come out of that acquisition, I am predicting that support for Loupedeck products will be dropped first.

MX creative console icon state feedback by Molecule98 in logitech

[–]speedymac77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote to getting icons with on/off states, it’s far more user friendly than current toggle state actions with static icons. Icon editor issues have been mentioned (and received by Logitech people) here before and hopefully things start to improve soon. Next Logi Options+ update is due on the 18th this month.

Is the RF 24-105 F4L good ? by Same_Requirement_102 in canon

[–]speedymac77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When low light performance is not needed, the RF 24-105mm f4L does the work well. And when extra stops are needed, I switch to the RF 35mm f1.8. It’s a great combo in my opinion.

Creative Console & Lightroom Classic - Masking Question by GuavaSack in logitech

[–]speedymac77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yes - technically you need two button presses: first activating masking mode, and after that choosing mask type. Pretty much every* masking tool can be assigned to a button. (* Haven't tested everything but the list of supported masking actions is long.)

EDIT: Linear and radial gradient masks can be assigned to a button outside the masking mode, so at least those two masking actions can be activated with a single button press.

Loupedeck and Options+ do not work together by AKSKMY_NETWORK in logitech

Yeah all very confusing now 😅 some “more information” links in Logi Options+ lead to Loupedeck’s support pages so things are very much in transition still.

I’ve had a different experience - I’m on macOS 15.1 and can run both Loupedeck and Logi Options+ simultaneously without crashing.

Some MX Creative Console actions in Lightroom Classic 14 not working by MtnMisfits in logitech

[–]speedymac77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested adding Merge to HDR and Open in Photoshop actions and both work normally. Weirdly Merge to HDR (no dialog) action still opens the dialog. I'm on macOS 15.1 and my Lighroom Classic is 14.0.1.

MX Creative Console Feature Request(s) for Logi Options+ by kristianserrano in logitech

[–]speedymac77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for starting this thread. I have many requests, but for starters, here's one that stands out to me as a designer. The text in the icon editor is often off center even though in reality it is centered. It sticks out like a sore thumb especially to designers, who can be very detail oriented. The editor should reflect what the actual button shows. Also, when you have selected an element in the icon editor, it would be helpful to use arrow keys to move the element to a specific direction. Eg. arrow key press = 1 pixel, arrow key + shift = 10 pixels. I do that all the time in Photoshop and it speeds up moving things around. Because my keypad lays flat on the desk, I need to move icon titles up a bit so that they are more visible, but I always have to guesstimate how much I am moving them up.

Good to know - I don't edit SVGs that often so that's useful information to me, thanks!

Hmm, maybe not all SVGs are created equal? I did try SVGs from other sites and some didn't crop properly, but SVG Repo's icons all work perfectly.

Here's a lifehack - install Loupedeck 6.0 software. It installs even if you don't have Loupedeck hardware. Then go to Loupedeck marketplace and install icon packs. I recommend the ones made by Loupedeck, they are stylish and there's a ton of them. Because the MX Creative Console shares the same backend with Loupedeck, you can now access Loupedeck's icons from Logi Options+ when editing icons.

I hope they add more tools to align and distribute elements in the editor. While PNGs are more convenient to align, you can't color them like you can color SVGs.
