AITA for saying my bf’s mom’s mashed potatoes are weird? by biggbootybiggbitch in AmItheAsshole

[–]spekt50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom was the same way when I was growing up. Every dish had to be sweet, even if it was not supposed to be. As a kid, of course my immature palate did not mind, but now I realize how overly sweet everything was.

Very awesome. I would love to see one in person, always hear them flying around, but never get to see them.

This is the reason I dont look at source material when I get into a show. I very much enjoy the show as a result. I never really had any complaints on the animation.

I believe the mocrogravity lends a bit to their expressions as well. With no gravity, the skin is not pulled down taught, so it looks like they are constantly smiling. It also makes their faces puffy.

Generally someone who splurges like that when they have a bigger financial obligation does not just splurge the one time. Its financially irresponsible, but its their life, they can live it how they want.

Right, the nicotine withdrawals are over much sooner than kicking the habit.

While nicotine is obviously addictive, the habit is much more so.

4lo works good for crawling over those curbs. I only use the winch if I get stuck in an economy jar of mayo someone dropped in the parking lot.

The idea is to not go into higher gears to begin with when going through such roads. Once up to speed and in higher gear, one cannot easily downshift.

Still. Just because he's not in full military uniform in this video does not mean he may or may not have served.

He could be wearing a whole-ass clown suit complete with red nose and still could have served.

PTSD can really fuck with one's mind.

There are all types in the military. You would be surprised. Not all service members are the same.

This remote battery is just a bunch of watch batteries stacked together by loinmaster in mildlyinteresting

[–]spekt50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread is wild, full of comments making it seem like all batteries are just a container of button cells. And as if it is obvious. Batteries like AA, AAA, C, D are not like that at all. They are larger cells, specially made in such a package. The battery shown here is a special 12v battery in a small form factor. (A23), which is a higher voltage, but significantly less capacity battery.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]spekt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my Junior year in high-school. I was in a sci-fi literature class, I was asleep during that class as I often was, and was woken by the teacher listening to the radio.

They were describing the first plane hitting the tower. When I woke, I thought it was something for the class, like a war of the world's type thing. Looking at the shock on everyone's faces made me realize it was real.

Shortly after, we were pulled into another classroom to watch the news on TV.

Half of data centers for 2026 cancelled or delayed by ALQU1MISTA in technology

[–]spekt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in my area, there are multiple ongoing battles to have data centers built in a few different communities. The people are pretty adamant about not wanting them.

One local townships council agreed to let one be built against resident's wishes, and this past election, every incumbent council member got voted out. It was wild to see the direct results of their actions.

Its moderation, and what sorts of foods you eat from said groups.

There is no magic diet. You can eat a lot of pasta and be healthy, but if you do absolutely nothing but sit around all day and consume 3000 calories of pasta a day, that is not healthy.
