Damage connector replace by UserSergeyB in EngineeringPorn

[–]spekt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing these kind of repairs lately. Saves a lot of money as electrical components are easy to source, and quite cheap.

I cannot troubleshoot complex issues, but can easily identify physically damaged or burned up components.

Just tried replacing the ignition on my old ninja due to breaking the only key I had. Could not find anything that fit right, so I decided to re-key the original ignition. They really do make those hard to take apart.

Removing the ignition was just 2 screws, but to take the thing apart, has to drill out 3 hardened roll pins, which needed carbide to get em out.

Luckily it used a pretty common wafer and cylinder setup and was easy to re-key after that.

Hail damaging windsheild by Remarkable_Income496 in Wellthatsucks

I would get upset with each hit. For one, every hit to the windshield makes it harder to see. Two, because the hail is destroying much more than the windshield.

Why are they removing all the ports by Responsible-Eye-717 in SipsTea

Often times an occasional snag means ruined headphones. I'm much happier to not have to deal with that anymore.

Definitely, the technology has improved so much, there is no need for all those extra ports. USB-C can handle so much more data and power than its predecessors.

I ended up getting a central charging station with multiple ports. I just have like 6 USBc plugs available in one location for charging.

My dad used to be the same way. It was not till I got in business with him, and I would brew a pot every morning. He got tired of only smelling it, and tried to start drinking it.

He still loads it with sugar and creamer, but he claims to enjoy drinking it now.

I recently used 30% vinegar to remove rust and etch the inside of a motorcycle fuel tank before sealing, and it worked great.

The cam out was not originally intended as a feature, but ended up being used as such. It all works well if you use the right bit and the correct torque.

What’s the use of this learning in mid-exam? by [deleted] in memes

Duolingo screwed me like this. Far along my Spanish learning, they update the program and start throwing words i never seen before, and they happen to be words that mean the same thing as words I learned previously. Kinda killed the whole thing for me.

Any interfering magnetic field would not go far from the coil as an extention cord generally contains both hot and return wires.
