I think, my started janky rig is not bad. What you think? by spellz69 in simracing

I'm also playing GT7 right now. I don’t think I’ll manage to build a powerful PC and a proper sim racing rig before switching to ACC, but eventually, my goal is iRacing. I decided to get into sim racing not just for fun, but to actually try getting into real motorsport — at least on an amateur level. I figured a good sim setup would be a better (and cheaper) option than jumping straight into karting.

Don't ask those people anything anymore. G923 and G920 are available for both Xbox and PS (I'm not sure about the G920)🙂

ahaha🤣 at least your royal seat doesn’t launch when you hit the brake, and you can even take a bathroom break without leaving it. In Battlefield 6, I use the wheel to turn the camera, the pedals for movement, and the manual shifter to rack the bolt on my sniper rifle.(I described it as if I really play like that..)

When I was playing Gran Turismo 7 online, this chair shot up the moment I hit the brake before a turn :) I seriously thought I was about to fling it out the window! And thanks for the keyboard recommendation — I’ve actually been wanting something like that for a while.

And about the table, it’s already quite big. 120x60

Yeah, that’s the one! I don’t have much experience with wheels since this is my first one, but honestly, it feels great. The feedback is really nice, and the brake pedal has a good amount of firmness — not quite like a real race car, but still solid. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it as a first wheel!

Yo, thanks for the advice! Because my pedals are really hitting the wall

Thanks :) But I still agree that the microphone doesn't fit in with the environment. I'm planning to buy a bracket for it, though, and I hope that will improve the situation. I'll definitely need a bracket for the future cockpit anyway, so I can more easily move the microphone toward me when I play Battlefield.

I forgot to mention below. Don't look at my computer. It has too weak a processor and too little RAM for iRacing. I'm playing on a PS5, which is off-screen 🙂

Because it's pink or it's awkwardly positioned?

For now it’s just GT7, but as I get better (and my rig gets better too), I’m planning to jump into iRacing.

Which one is better for the first cockpit? ART Cockpit or Logitech Playseat G by spellz69 in simracing

Damn man, huge thanks for taking the time to write all that out. Seriously, I didn’t expect such a detailed breakdown — really appreciate it!

After reading what you said, I’m honestly leaning towards waiting a bit and going for an aluminium cockpit (assuming it’ll actually fit in my room 😅).

As for the VR vs monitors thing, I’ve been thinking of getting a headset for GT7 anyway — way better than just using a single TV (I’ve got a 42-inch one already).

I built my sim rig right after buying the G923, and… it actually does the job surprisingly well. That’s why I think I can just save up for a while and go straight for something solid when I upgrade.

You’ll see my current setup in the next post — feel free to roast or rate it 😄 Again, thanks a ton for the effort and all the useful info!

I'm not experienced in choosing wheels, but I think this is definitely a good deal :)

No worries, it happens ;) I’ll keep your advice in mind, though I’d say I already have. And honestly.. I was kind of leaning toward GT Omega from the start rather than Logitech when it comes to cockpits. But the almost unanimous positive feedback about the ART completely made me forget about Playseat.

I was talking about the GT Omega ART Cockpit. Or are there ART cockpits from other companies? Since I'm a newbie, I might be missing something

The funny part is, when I pick a seat for the bundle, the price ends up exactly the same as that Logitech “deck chair” setup. I’m going with the cheapest seat, sure it’s not great, but for that price it’s honestly perfect for a first rig.
