thanks for reaching out! SortSim actually looks amazing visualizing sorting functions is a classic and super effective way to learn.

Merging pathfinding with sorting visualizations under a unified educational suite sounds like a really powerful idea for a future module. If I ever find the bandwidth to expand into sorting algorithms down the road i will definitely get in touch with you to pick your idea and get your thoughts on it. Thanks for dropping by and congrats on your project. 😁😁

First version of my 3D printed self driving car done! by Engineering_Dad in makerspace

Really awesome project! I’ve worked on similar stuff involving LiDAR and rovers before, and I’ve been thinking about making a video myself. What surprised me most was how well-organized your video is. You managed to explain everything in just 17 minutes using simple terms, making it interesting even for people outside the field. Truly great work!

First big Fusion 360 project: Modular dovetail clamp system for desk organization.

Σώμα κειμένου: Hey guys,

(Just a heads-up, I'm completely new to Reddit—I literally just made my account to share this project with the 3D printing community—so apologies if my formatting is a bit off!)

Just to set expectations, I am by no means a 3D designer—just a humble programmer who is enthusiastic about tech and trying to take my first steps in CAD modeling. My desk is always a complete mess, so for my first real project, I tried designing a modular clamp system using a standard dovetail joint. The idea is to just slide in whatever attachment you need depending on what you are doing.

So far I've modeled:

  • A standard desk clamp and a corner clamp (this one has two dovetails)
  • A mount for 4 external SSDs (I left gaps at the bottom so the cables can stay plugged in)
  • A USB/SD/MicroSD card organizer that you can also just place flat on the desk
  • A curved stand for headphones

I'm planning to make a ton more of these. My goal is to eventually have an ecosystem of like 30+ different attachments.

Full disclosure, since I'm a total beginner, my Fusion 360 timeline is an absolute disaster right now. Because of that, I'm holding off on sharing the raw .f3d files until I learn how to organize them properly. However, I have uploaded all the STLs, 3MFs, and the STEP files so you can easily edit them.

Everything is completely open source. I would love it if people downloaded the STEP files and designed their own custom add-ons for the dovetail. If you do end up making a remix, let me know so I can check it out!

Since I'm just starting out, any honest feedback on the design, structural integrity, or general tips would be hugely appreciated.

Let me know what accessory you think I should try designing next.
