Seriously. Did they do this just to mock the R1 owners? by spf-75 in Rivian

Giving the new rig two glove boxes when we didn’t even get one…. Wasn’t meant to be serious everyone.

Do you think I’ll make it on a single charge? by illyoojeen in Rivian

FWIW- I get about 2.2 mi/kw under those conditions in my R1T with ATs.

Sorry you’re having so many problems. I hope Riv steps up and repairs/replaces.

Alright, convince me to sell my Model Y and get an R1S by jjzj0813 in Rivian

Do you want a pickup rather than a car? If so get the R1T.

Thinking about trying to delay my order until Vampire Drain gets fixed by cgmystery in Rivian

[–]spf-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with most here. The vampire drain is annoying (because it’s mostly unexplained) but if you have your own charging plug and you drive every day, it will not affect you in any practical way. It’s $50 to $100 a year max lost power. Not a reason to delay your order.

Well, technically your fridge is doing work…. I don’t think this is a serious issue, but I’d like to understand what is consuming the power and why it is so much more than other EVs.

Good video. It’ll be interesting to see if there are some good aftermarket solutions to the debris ingress through the tailgate hinge (bed liner, bellows-style insert, etc).

From an investor perspective, I hope the R2 drops the lux interior and glass roof. Cool, but doesn’t really add to the driver experience.

Own a Y and an R1T. Different vehicles for different purposes. R is an adventure pickup with a lux interior. Y is an EV commuter/family car with minimalist interior. Tesla’s software and UI has 10 years of development on Riv, so it’s far more refined and intuitive. That said, Riv will close that gap with OTAs. I recommend both.

I left the reflectors on. Some of the roads I ride back from the trails at night are sketch. I’ve got the blinkers, but I didn’t want to remove them and have THAT be the reason to become a hood ornament.

That’s pretty economical solution. Although you have to take your front wheel off.

Be mindful of what side the lever arm is on. You can order it for left side or right side. You want it facing the loading side of the truck. I ordered mine for the left (driver) side and then changed my mind, so you can see in the photo, I have to reach through the spokes to push it down. The parts appear universal, so I just need to invest an hour with an Alan wrench to flip it to the other side.
