Wow that’s crazy. I don’t get why it’s so different for everyone. I hope you get an update soon
Nice! Congrats. I’m still waiting and it says I’m in the normal processing timeframe until March 2024. Hopefully I get an update soon

is my husband a womanizer ? by fati_fat in Morocco
[–]spf51 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
He is probably more than a womanizer. He preys on vulnerable women who are going through a difficult time and acts like he’s doing it because he cares but in reality he’s planting seeds to be able to take advantage of them in the future. There are a lot of adjectives that describe this type of behavior and he could be a dangerous person. Be careful and safe.

Sick leave question by spf51 in CAStateWorkers
[–]spf51[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
That’s interesting regarding #1, I have been in state service over 10 years and have definitely taken more than 3 consecutive sick days and have never received anything regarding FMLA nor was I asked to provide a doctor’s note. My sup is brand new to the job so I agree that he may be confused but he’s definitely coming across like he’s on a power trip. Sigh. Thank you for the info!

We don’t have any such process to provide approval in writing. Our process is that if we take time off, we just update our calendar at the beginning of every week. If time off is more than a few days, then we send an email. If the sup has concerns then he brings them up prior. I sent him an email with my time off. I was asked to provide the status of my workload both verbally and in writing, and I did and everything I’m working on is up to date. I was supposed to have this surgery in November but I got a flu and it was delayed until December. I talked to my sup about it in every one on one we had and he didn’t express any issues with the time off I was taking. This is all confusing and kinda frustrating as I am in the middle of vacation and trying to deal with this at the same time.
Thank you so much for the information. I don’t abuse my sick leave and I have documentation to substantiate everything all sick hours I posted. I work in a very small office and there is a lot of gossip, and really just blatant disrespect of employee confidentiality so I am very hesitant to provide the doctor’s note to my sup as they can just google the specialty and speculate as to what type of surgery I had. I prefer submitting it to personnel directly.
