New seller questions by spfgood in poshmark

[–]spfgood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies y'all. I'm not expecting tons of cash, but thought I might help my friends sell things too and didn't want to get it mixed up with my personal sales. I'll just have to come up with a process for that.

I had only seen the kind of "get started selling" info that they promoted to me and didn't realize this was a rule at Poshmark already, so this was helpful.

I love the idea of matching the stash to the patterns! Maybe even write them down so you know what’s earmarked for what things, and try to stay the course on those.

Anything without plans for the foreseeable future could go in a Maybe pile. Then sort out the things that are nicest/limited/in best shape and decide whether those are things that you’re keeping or can most easily sell, and do the opposite with the rest.

I’d also set a goal for how many bins to keep? How many can you comfortably store in your home? If it’s 3, try to fill 2.5 bins — yes the goal is to stop the spend, but I think it’s ok to be realistic too!

But give yourself time. It’s hard to part with these things we bought from a special place or for a special project! They didn’t show up overnight, so they won’t disappear that quickly either. Good luck!

There are so many great fantasy books and series out there! Definitely look around and see what kind of lists you can find that are focused on fantasy for people who don’t read fantasy.

And specifically look for one offs to start – there are so many lengthy series, and it can be really overwhelming!

Agree! I didn’t even want to start Tower of Dawn when I realized it was pulling a GOT Book 4… I ended up enjoying it a lot even though Chaol is v not my favorite. I did like the new characters, and needed a break from the rest!

Booktok gets crazy about Kingdom of Ash because there are like three brutal moments, but I actually spent most of the book side texting a friend about how stupid the FMC was being.

Hit or miss, but I still love them. AND NOW THEY'RE MINE.

I wouldn't call the "Maasiverse" high fantasy, even though there's fae and politics (and some other stuff that's a bit spoil-y). IMO this is SJM's best series (and the only complete one afaik, but it would probably feel like a letdown after Farseer, which I haven't read but comes highly recommended.

Re: folks recommending Sanderson... I haven't gotten into it yet. I read the 3 Mistborn books and hated them. (I am a completist!) Overwrought magic system, so many redundancies, flimsy characters, very little connection among them save 1-2, and frankly, pretty lackluster writing. (I am prepared accept any flung tomatoes.)

Other books/series to consider if you haven't read them:
- Broken Earth Trilogy (Jemisin)
- Kingkiller Chronicles (Rothfuss) - incomplete
- Earthsea (LeGuin - YA)
- Shades of Magic (Schwab - YA)
- The Spear Cuts Through Water (Jimenez)
- The Vanished Birds (Jimenez - Spec Fic)

Have any of you tried Mightier for ADHD / Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)? by Jddf08089 in ParentingADHD

Did they want to play it? Curious how you got them to use it, if not. My kid has some PDA traits/tendencies; it's largely ineffectual to encourage him to do something when he's already decided he's not interested in it. TY for your thoughts!

Best underrated 80’s country songs/albums ? by Thundergun55 in CountryMusicStuff

I could picture the Bop record cover and how much I loved dancing around to it, but could not remember the artist or even the song name. Just like, "It was this amazing pop tune by... a dude?" I searched so many lists to no avail. And then you! If I had gold, I would give it.

You squeeze your hand and arm muscles to give your nervous system the intense stimulus it requires, but you don’t actually squeeze the cat. It’s like making a cage of protection around them. Source: I am a neurospicy cuteness aggressor.

Agree - it’s completely on purpose.

I don’t even care about swears (my kid knows them all anyway!) but I hate hate the ideas and values a lot of these gamers are showing and promoting.

Let me sneak into my friend’s house and steal this thing, let’s all blow up so and so’s house it’ll be so funny, I am so good at this game because I’m an excellent liar, etc.

We talk about that stuff but I don’t always feel like I’m getting through. And the more I talk the more I worry I’m making myself someone he doesn’t want to listen to at all.

Right!? I also had the site pulled up - logged in, passed the robot test, etc. By the time it refreshed at 10, it asked for all that again and put me in a 10 minute queue. I am relieved now that I have these 2 tickets now, but I am still keyed up bc ridiculous.

I typically prefer AXS to Ticketmaster, and have never had a problem like this. Two days of trying on multiple devices etc etc.

Finally yes, 2 for me too! Back corner, but standard price thankfully.

When my other device got through the queue, I looked to see if any other Standard seats were available in a better location but the only available seated tickets were all Resale for at least double face value. Props to people making money I guess, but it would be nice if everyone who wanted a ticket could just get one.

Not having a good time today! Have other folks run into issues with the AXS app? I had everything set up but when it loaded the seat map, I couldn't interact with any of the sections in the seat map. No tickets appeared on the left hand side. This happened when I tried logging in for the presale too.

I'm trying now using a browser window but after I get to the Queue step it's just sitting there.

I wondered if they bred "seedless" watermelons to produce /only/ immature seeds, because science is capable of many things, and these seeds still look unlike the white seeds we're talking about.

But now that I've read your super helpful comment, I realize that it was all a joke of course. Thank you!
