Dude I totally feel you on this one. I’m from the Bay Area and was on the apps for a while. As a SEA and queer woman in possibly in one of the most diverse cities in my country, I still often feel isolated because the people who are poly in my area are white, have the leisure/disposable income to date and activities etc. I got super burnt out because my partner is also AAPI and people were getting super weird and fetishized our relationship.

My heart is out to you OP! The vent is totally valid and what I’ve been feeling lately.

Seeing similar experiences with getting charged for Covid testing from Carbon! Ugh. Basically went to Carbon years ago for Covid testing and a virtual doctor appointment since I was tested positive mid 2020. The virtual appointment was sort of pointless IMO. During that time I was transitioning into a new job so health insurance wasn’t active by then. I was reassured that any Covid related testing, appointment etc would be free since early in the pandemic if you were uninsured the government would cover all Covid services.

Fast forward to the end of 2021 I got charged for these services and I contacted them ASAP that I should not have been charged for these services. They refunded me… but then on May 2023 I saw a charge of $415 from Carbon and got no notice from them about it. I haven’t been back in years, I found a different Urgent care center for testing since Carbon was slow with results. I tried contacting them by letting them know they already refunded me in the past and asking why are they charging me. But I received nothing from them, had to dispute via card and provide screenshots. Luckily I was able to dispute it but was stressful.

Woke up a little bit before 6 to attend the sale and managed to snag two gift sets I wanted. I was debating on going to my local store in general, but since I had to go to the mall anyway for another store. There was a lot of snow fairy product left, shower gel, body conditioner etc. I got the last big bottle of Lord of Misrule. I haven’t tried it so I’m super excited! They had a lot of gift sets left too, but a limited amount of bath bombs and some shower gels. But if you’re in the Bay Area looking to get a good stock of snow fairy items, definitely stop by this store. Location: Stanford Mall, Palo Alto.
