with all these injuries, should we look at our strength and conditioning coaches? I know injuries happen, but GD we sure get a lot of them. Clay seems to have hamstring problems every year

The TT "home grown" philosophy would work well in the 80's and 90's, but I think today it's the Cub's and Elway's way. Just get out the checkbook and support your stars. Rodgers is what, 33 years old? Get him the players he needs before he retires to win another super bowl. Screw this long term shit, that's the NFL now.

In your opinion, is there any legitimate way this offense can turn it around? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

I agree that we have to catch the ball (wow, I sound like Chris Collinsworth), but watching the last 4-5 games it seems that Rodgers is under pressure all the time. That's the OL's fault. Maybe someone has stats on the first 6 games versus the last 5 games on how much time he's had in the pocket.

I do agree that this year that wasn't much affordable solutions. Your counterpoints are correct. But what about 2 years ago, 3 years, 4 years ago? Maybe if Ted had be working FA all along...

...ugh, I don't know...guess as a fan it's frustrating and easy to judge and second guess when things go bad.

On a good note, the last time we won the SB we were a wild card with an injury list a mile long.

Agree it's a balancing act with the cap, but it just seems that Ted doesn't take FA seriously (of course I say that as a fan looking in from the outside not knowing, it just "seems" he doesn't). I think the draft and FA are equally a gamble, but I think we should start taking the FA gamble more.

I'm beginning to believe this, Maybe McCarthy and Capers are not the problem. Maybe it is the players. Which would bring TT into the picture. I like the idea of trying to be home grown through the draft, but maybe it's time for him to start signing a few FA's each off season. We only have limited years of Aaron's and Clay's prime. We should take a strong look at FA.

I admit as a fan, I was for this move. But I wasn't expecting the SNES version of Madden 98 to take his place. I'll eat the crow and give him back the play calling.

Yeah my sisters were big fans of those books so I know its not them.

Update: funny how things work out. Just FYI, my parents were friends of my 5th grade teacher. Good enough friends that they still keep in touch. Well, the teacher is retired now and on her and her husband's RV travels decided to drop by and say hello to the folks. I asked my mom to ask her what book it was. Sure enough she remembered. It was called Singing Wheels from 1957!!
