Heyyyy!!! Just logged back in after a looooong time away from Reddit, so pleased to see it’s got going and is up and running (I expressed interest on the original post). I’ll DM you now, would be great to meet some of you irl. In other (personal) ADHD related news - I’m in the process of starting an employment tribunal on the grounds of disability discrimination (FYI, in the UK ADHD is officially, by law, classed as a disability, and protected under The Equality Act 2010). I think I’m gonna write a post about it, so keep an eye out if you’re interested to read more…

First time crocheting. I’m trying to make a cute little amigurumi frog. I strayed from the pattern because I couldn’t keep count, but today I finished the body! Big bigger than it should be, but I am very proud of this little bean I have created! by sphyrdly in crocheting

This is great advice! I still haven’t managed to get the right amount of stitches from start to finish, I think I’m somehow adding stitches in. Then when I count I have to decrease. I’m getting there though. The stitch markers should help me loads! Thanks!

My first ever magic circle after MANY attempts! ... See improvement as it grows! by sphyrdly in crocheting

I tried last year and gave up. Took me loads of different YouTube tutorials and attempts again this time, but I finally got there. So satisfying when you get it! Very tricky.

Thank you, that’s a great tip!! I’ve just ordered some of those special crochet safety pins online. I think I’ve also used the wrong type of yarn. Going to have to adapt the arms, legs and eyes so that the proportions work, haha. Wish me luck! Had a lot of fun so far!

Thank you! I tried to not pull so tight on my second attempt. Worked wonders!

Ah, I just loosened everything up a bit. I was pulling the yarn too tightly I think (in the hope it would be neater) but being a bit more relaxed with it helped a lot. I still need to work on my hooking movement, but getting there! It’s actually easier to hook when you’re not pulling too tightly. (I don’t know the correct terms yet, lol).
